Clean Really Dirty Marble Floors with Hot Water, Dishwashing Liquid & Sponge.
Tutorial on how to clean marble with household items. When outdoor marble floors are not regularly cleaned, layers of dirt pile up and cleaning it seems impossible without damaging it. 👇 More info below 👇
As for so many other things that pile up layers of dirt with time, my guess proved to be correct. It just needed a good soak in hot water and some hand dishwashing liquid. It really doesn’t matter which one you use, the secret lies in the hot water and soaking.
⭐ You need
☑ hot water
☑ dish soap liquid
☑ sponge/abrasive sponge/wool wire/metal sponge pad (depending if the marble floor is glossy or matte)
⭐Method
Pour some really hot water on the dirty surface of the marble and top it with any dish soap you have around. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. I used Fairy because that's what I had, but really any dish shop should work. Heard a lot good things about Dawn, but never tried it. My guess is that regular soap should work as well, because this kind of "time" dirt is not necessarily greasy.
Scrape in a circular motion with the item you choose from my suggestions. If the marble has some treatment layers, go for a soft sponge.
Most of the marble used for outdoors is not treated, so you can go for the more abrasive versions. The best thing is to test on a small surface and check out if it goes a bit dull or loses its spark. Choose wisely.
Mine hadn’t been treated in years, so it didn’t make any difference, I went for the metal sponge.
Wipe and rinse with a damp cloth. And voila! Looking good?
