Shandra Smith, I bought a hooptie to stop putting miles on my 2018. The seats were filthy. My 12 yr. old said, I'm not sitting in that. I laughed so hard. I bought a drill brush set and cleaned the seats. The seats looks brand spanking new. She now sits in clean comfort, lmao.

If you live in a rust belt, it may be worthwhile to take your car to a paint and body shop and getting a good coat of undercoat sprayed onto any and all vulnerable metal parts on the underside of your car. Since I don't, I usually just give my car a really good waxing with synthetic wax once a year and take it through a spray wash every so often to get rid of the dust and grime that couldn't stick to the wax.

It's all hidden under the plastic covers, I live in Quebec and I saw a 08 Saturn Vue with rotten rocker panels under those fancy plastic covers

In Saskatchewan, because it gets so cold, salt doesn’t really work on the roads for ice. We use a mixture of potash and dirt. I have an 08 Ford Edge...zero rust. 🙂

My 08 was in michigan and there was 0 rust on the body and the frame was clean too...this is why you need an undercarriage wash

I leased a brand new 2006 Saturn VUE in that year, a Chili Pepper Red one, and absolutely LOVED that car. It had a manual transmission, and I treated it like it was a royal carriage. Washed it weekly during the harsh northern Michigan winters, vac'd it twice a week, just took super good care of it, along with having regular oil changes, etc. Wish they still made Saturns.

Watching this makes me so satisfying to a point where I want to go and detail my BF's car (He has algae/moss-like stuff in most exterior crevaces because he doesn't drive much and it sits on the drive)
