I explain the complete setup for deep cranking summertime bass. I'm fishing one of thousands of the south Florida gravel or rock pits that are being created for housing developments, golf courses or road construction. These are full of big bass!

You're not only a great teacher but your a good guy and a good example for young/new anglers. I've experienced a lot of people the last few years that could use a lesson in fishing/boating etiquette, I wish more big youtubers would do videos on how to treat others on the water. Not getting to close to others or cutting people off when they are fishing a bank.

Thank You sooooo much Mr. Roland Martin. Been Bass fishing for about a year and a half, mainly in the South Florida Everglades. Your videos have not only taught me techniques and baits to use, but also have increased my understanding and knowledge on the sport you, others and myself love so much. Thank you again, you make a difference with your videos. They provide education that is easy to understand and follow, unlike other videos I've watched. And the fact that lots of your videos are filmed in the exact areas I fish, have made me improve as a Bass angler. Thanks and best of luck, you are very appreciate by me and many others.

Mr Martin... I actually helped build that area in mid 70's to 80's. We had run the catfish farm in Lehigh too! I was in those pits for both work AND fish 😎 🐊 Oh and I'd hit my share of gators on the head too! 😂 Brought heavy equipment into RSW also BEFORE it was an airport. Remember the sinkhole situation?! Great video! Thank you sir!

This is Roland Martin, not Bill Dance. Although I love Bill as well, he's more down your alley if you need brand names and exact measurements of how to fish. The beauty of watching Roland is his direct connection to his viewers. I love his enthusiasm and style. I don't need adverts on top of it all. You can figure out most of what he uses by just watching his channel.

I like a slow gear ratio when I’m fishing 15ft plus. 5.1-6.3:1 You will play longer in the strike zone. Big Bass are sluggish and usually are not in the mood when the water is near 90F. Fast ratios , your bait will be back to the boat or bank before it get a long chance to play. Remember, for every action, there’s a reaction !!!

Roland, I'm sure you have more knowledge about bass fishing than most could ever hope to have. But, you aren't really teaching. Basically, your just making videos so someone can watch you fish. I'm only into bass fishing two years and need real instruction. What kind of crankbait are you using? What size? what color? How deep are you fishing your crankbait? The other day I watched a video of you fishing a worm and you said you were using a big hook. What kind of hook? What size big hook? just saying big hook explains nothing. Also not impressed with videos made fishing private lakes, ponds and gravel pits. The rest of us don't have the same Opportunities a famous pro fisherman has. How about some real life videos fishing public lakes like the rest of us fish?

Roland, I respect all you’ve done to make Bass fishing such a huge sport in this country, and without guys like you, Jimmy Houston, etc. creating Bass Master tournaments to give top anglers a chance at showing anyone watching just how successful they can fish for bass. However, you keep telling us you were a rifle teacher in the army, and you can teach how to fish better than you actually fish yourself. With respect, I disagree. You are not a good fishing teacher. No doubt you know what you’re doing and what works best for you. But I’ve seen more top pro angler fish using a senko Texas rugged and NOT hold the rod tip high and catch hundreds of fish. Does this mean what you say is wrong? NOT AT ALL. But it is what works best for YOU. I’ve suggested this before and I’ll try again. If Roland Martin wants to see how real pro anglers TEACH every type of fishing technique as well as how and why to use electronics, PLEASE watch some of the videos of the KZfaq channel Tactical Bassin by Matt Allen and Tim Little. These guys are GREAT TEACHERS and make sure to let everyone know what is a personal preference or a statistical certainty. You’re so scattered when you talk. You’ll say something, then when it doesn’t work or happen, there’s a cut and you’re somewhere else doing something else and you either don’t talk about this new thing, or you keep talking about what you were doing and not what you are doing. Honestly, I watch our of respect Roland as each view adds up to extra income and I believe you deserve to be paid for your talent at fishing for bass. I simply know you’re not a good teacher for those of us who aren’t lifelong bass fishermen because we grew up in places where bass weren’t a concern. Trout, or Pickerel, Perch, Pike, Muskie, etc. You grew up in MD, you should remember how different things are there compared to Naples, FL. I’ll keep watching, but I’m not watching to learn anything except you have more places to fish than I will ever have filled with big bass. Best wishes!

Neal , what are you? An expert? I think not! I grew up in Florida and started bass fishing during early childhood, but got away from it and lived in the northeast for 40 years. There I fly fished New York, New Jersey, PA, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado. Now I'm back in the SOUTH, my home and roots, and just started back BASS Fishing again. Roland Martin has forgotten more about Bass fishing than all these commentators combined(including me), will ever know! I too was an officer in the military and was a helicopter flight instructor and combatant. I now getting older now (74) but I am still learning as much as I can about anything I get interested in--including Bass fishing. I think Roland is a very good teacher, and I think your attitude is in major need of adjustment!
@NealVan
@NealVan 5 жыл бұрын
M.E. Smith M.E. Smith Did you or Roland ACTUALLY READ and comprehend my original commentary? I’m 58 born between wars, so I’m sorry I have nothing to say about being in the service as my father was back between 1943-1945 in the Navy as a aircraft navigator in the Pacific Theater. And as far as what Roland May or May not have forgotten about bass fishing is ALSO NOT THE ISSUE. Geez! He is NOT a good teacher, he’s just great at how HE fishes. If you don’t understand the difference, then none of this will make sense. Now, since you took your valuable time to read and react to my first or second message. I’ll end with this one simple thing I want you (and Roland) to do. Go to this fishing channel entitled Tactical Bassin ( link is here if you wish not to search... kzfaq.info which their homepage. Of you wish me to be more specific, here is the link directly to their playlist for ‘Summer Bass Fishing’ kzfaq.info/sun/PLgykyPP_mr1fkwLZgIhrPWLBY2gKTgz4w ) if after watching their video on deep crank baits, and STILL believe Roland is a good teacher, I’ll never post another comment with constructive criticism trying to help Roland understand what amateur bass fishermen around the but, but especially for me in Central Florida along the Gulf Coast who is disabled and can ONLY fish from the canal bank in my backyard. If you’re not willing to spend about 30 minutes watching a much better educational fishing channel, then leave me alone with MY well researched fishing channel list. Anyone with a functional brain and an open mind will easily see why I criticized Roland Martin for his teaching skills ONLY. NOT an amazing professional bass fishing force he was back when Bass fishing wasn’t ever considered more than a recreation. You might be older, but you sure are not wiser. I’m just trying to help you both to become wiser as a teacher and a student. I could discuss professional music equipment and all its uses in and out of a recording studio or in a live performance situation which I’ve done most of my adult life. But I’m smart enough to know good teaching from poor teaching about any subject. Roland is a living legend and I’ve written nothing negative about him, his fishing skills, or anything he’s done in his military career. This is a fishing channel, and I KNOW he is NOT a good teacher. With just some time watching other fishing channels of merit and true fishing skill can only HELP both you and Roland in each respective way. Now he’s posted a video about updating his Jon boat wood deck. This looks like it will be VERY educational. I’ll never own any type of boat, but I think this is a perfect indicator just how intelligent he is. I’ll hope you both won’t continue to stubborn and obstinate and give credit to the old saying about teaching an old dog a new trick. Best wishes to ya up in northern Florida.
