Was just meditating on this suit. I have the Thoth deck, and while the art depicted is different, the spirit remains the same: a somewhat catastrophic release from mental obstacles and obstinate struggle. And the possibility of renewal that comes afterwards. Thank you so much for uploading this.

Madelyn, I am a huge fan of your channel! I very much enjoy your videos and how you interpret Tarot. Have you had an encounter with AI and Tarot? I asked ChatGPT to interpret a three card spread - and it did a good job! I would love your take on the involvement of AI in Tarot and the role the “human” reader plays.

Interesting! My gut reaction is that the card meanings are constant. So an AI program could easily create accurate card readings in regard to the overall meaning. BUT the power of tarot is in its application to a specific person's path. AI doesn't know the nuanced and complex relationship, can't understand complicated circumstances which give every reading its CONTEXT. For example, if your spread is designed to explore your relationship with your mother, the AI cannot know the emotional history, the experiences, the specific nature of relationship, and then thusly, can't know what to take and apply to your question. Sure, an AI could be like an IT deck. But the deck isn't the tarot.....just like musical notes printed on a score aren't music itself. Without the human element providing context, the cards have no context. I'm sure I'll be thinking more about this! Thank you!
