I used to have friends over once a month for what I called, "heart attack night". They'd bring over whatever they wanted as well as whatever I had in the fridge, and if we could get batter to stick to it, we'd deep fry it. We did PB&J's which were my favorite. Pizza, mushrooms, hotdogs, bacon, pickles, various sandwiches, all kinds of stuff

We've been doing this for years. Fry a turkey on Thanksgiving day and then because we still have the oil in a big pot we have Fryday where we just randomly batter and fry everything all day. You gotta try thick cut bacon fried like this. Leftover turkey with mashed potatoes wrapped in cornbread dressing ball like a hush puppy takes leftovers to the next level. Gonna try a couple of these next time as well. Maybe my favorite episode ever.

You should try the classic Scottish battered mars bar. Also, deep fried battered pizza is something you can get in most Chippies (Fish & Chip shops) in Scotland, they are called scrunchies or a pizza crunch in most places. The Scots know how to deep fry food lol.

Sam, you inspired me! I had some leftover meatloaf in the fridge, and I thought why not? A little flour, egg, and Italian bath...and the I fried it up in a deep pan (oil about half way up the thick cut slice). I then baked some garlic bread with some melted provolone cheese. And I topped it off with a little meatloaf sauce, because (as you would say), why wouldn’t you? Let me say...I owe this stroke of genius to you! The only downside? The leftover meatloaf disappeared pretty damn fast.

OK two things. Love making deep fried tortellini. Something to try is soaking them overnight in lemon juice first. The NY strip I wonder if you couldn't do a reverse sear method of cooking it but instead of the pan fry after the oven, deep fry that sucker instead. Then that way you get that nice color with the crispy outside.

I work in a restaurant and we do fried Brussel sprouts . If you dust them in corn starch before frying they get a really nice crisp! Then top with some fresh Parmesan and balsamic glaze !

Sam needs to visit the State Fair of Texas. You can find things you would never expect to be deep fried - butter, beer, coke, bacon, pecan pie, jelly beans, Cadbury eggs...

I'd like to see Sam reverse sear a steak. Get it up to about 100 degrees and finish it off in the deep fryer for that wonderful crust.

I've deep fried hard boiled eggs but I don't use any batter. Just put the egg in the oil and let it go a few minutes. It gets a really nice crispy crust and doesn't take on any oil at all. Pat it dry and hit it with your favorite condiment (I like salt & hot sauce).

Before the 2 min mark “I’m definitely gonna use this for the ding dong” and max didn’t even say “that’s what she said.” I’m not mad, just disappointed.

I had a deep fryer for about 2 months. I gave it to a friend because I was eating deep fried stuff too much and gaining weight. Seeing this video, I wish I had a deep fryer again, but it's too tempting to eat everything like that.
