"What is going on?" They were vamping. Playing a song by Russian composer Vasily Solovyov Sedoi and poet Mikail Motusovski called "Moscow Nights". As a Russian American, I'm familiar with it. Unfortunately, this is not live. It's a studio version over live footage.

Hi Rebeka. I live in Australia and just recently started listening to your channel and appreciate your observations from all your reactions.It is clear that you have a love for music of all types. Demons Eye would have to be one of my all-time favourites from Deep Purple. I believe that the song is about a man who loved a woman but was deeply hurt by her. Her attempts to win him back have failed as the man no longer has feelings for her and has turned her away, and she is hurt by this. You must do a reaction to Stargazer by Rainbow, if you haven't already. It's one of my all-time favourites from anybody.

Very enjoyable reaction. This is one of my favorite Deep Purple songs too. I really don't know what it's about to be honest. I just know that it's so good musically and Ian Gillan's vocals are excellent as always. It's kind of an underrated song as it's not one of their more well known songs but it is highly regarded by many of us. Thank you.

Hi Rebeka, first let me say how I love your reactions - your enthusiasm for the music is infectious, and it is wonderful to see how you appreciate the music from years gone by 😀So this Deep Purple track is all about a woman who wronged her man, and is trying to get back into the life of her former partner .. the main refrain ‘Sly, Sly like a Demon’s Eye’ is when the wronged man is speaking of how she treated him, and how he is now rejecting her attempts to get back into his life. Deep Purple are, and always will be for me, the greatest rock band ever - they lived and performed for the music - to them, that was all that mattered.

I was 13 when this album came out and it was one of the reasons I've been a hard rock/heavy metal fan all these years!! Jon Lord is just amazing. You should check him out playing the song Hush with the band Gotthard, and the late, great Steve Lee!! I think you would really like their music.

Thanks to the Goddess of KZfaq! Love that vintage Deep Purple with Ian Gillan. Please do their live version of Mandrake Root from London in 1970. It's killer!! It's rare for me to see people in your age group take the time to listen older bands and find the more obscured songs. so, good for you and glad you liked it too,As for the meaning just have to listen and think about it, that's what we in the pre internet had to do ,plus it let's people glean their own meaning kinda like the song "guitar man" by Bread says . (You'll just have to look that up and listen) And then sometimes It's enough it rocks you enough to like it.🙂

Us in the states didn't get this until 4 years after it came out...and then on a Rarities album. What you heard at the beginning was their interlude between live songs, Abput what it's about, my guess is a failed re;ationship as in ELO's Evil Woman

legendary band, together with Black Sabbath, Deep Purple I think they were one of the heaviest in the early 70s (of course right before Judas Priest) excellent reaction, and nice edit! looks very cool ^^

Yeah! Wow you found the 'purple song that got me hooked all those years ago when I was a teen. Love to see ya groovin'! It's a boogy. Deep Purple do blues and boogy. It's good to dance to. Faith restored,I knew there was something I really liked about them but in the meantime I had gotten peed off with it all hearing Gillan forget his lyrics so many times on highway star.He dropped it a couple of times badly. Then I went to a gig and he had short hair. All too much haha. But this puppy-and maybe child in time- this is what we pay the man for. Nice one.

Back in 1974 there was a little concert called Cal Jam. Deep Purple was one of the bands along with a young Ozzy Osbourne. You might want to check it out here on KZfaq. Just type in Cal Jam or Cal Jam Fan Club. Crowd size was est at 100,000 but turned out to be 400,000. 1978 was Cal Jam 2 a little smaller at 350,000. Pretty cool what they pulled off back in the day. Before my time but remember hearing about it at the time as it was just up the road from were I grew up. Nothing their now but houses and shopping mall. Any way you might find some cool footage you can use. One in particular is Greg Lake, song is Still You Turn Me On. Beautiful song and performance. 👍😎...

Ah Deep Purple, still going strong after fifty years and they never play a song the same way twice, because they are that talented. There's a version of this track that runs about fifteen minutes long with a long jam in the middle. Hi Rebeka! Nice work as always. It's nice to see you getting deeper into this great music of the 70s. However, someone is fooling you with this video. It's not live at all! Everything is from the studio version from the album "Fireball". Even the little jaming at the beginning is not live but from the studio. That little jam is not from Demon's Eye song but is an entirely different thing. The jam wasn't released on the original album but appeared as a bonus track on a CD remaster from 1996 (if I don't remember incorrectly). I'm a music guy so I rarely listen to the lyrics more than fleetingly, so I'm sorry I don't know what it's about...

Interesting that you like this song, because it is, in my opinion, the most boring of the entire album (not bad, but rather uninspired). Matter of taste I guess... And by the way, this was the studio version of 1971, with some unrelated live stuff at the beginning. And if you want a totally different style (country like) on the same album, you may take a look at "Anyone's daughter", which has also funny lyrics.
