Jon had what many musicians don't have - the real feel of what effect his playing had on the audience. Like ASMR, he knew when to dwell and let some notes and passages have their natural rythm, instead of rushing it. I'm convinced that it was just like he liked to play too. I miss you Jon.

Only because the Fathers and Mothers of the Hammond are the many Black players America had and still has :P. But true he does deserve an honorable mention and God Father could work :P. Look up some Gospel/Blues Hammond players you'd be amazed if you love the instrument! Ooh and Theater Organs, the USA has some great ones of those as well. :)

I respectfully disagree. Steve is a great guitarist: way too many notes for my taste!. That being said, Ritchie seems to be a complete asshole. What he did to the fans on Nov. 9, at the NEC Arena in Birrmingham was unforgivable. ultimateclassicrock.com/ritchie-blackmore-deep-purple-meltdown/

Can't believe I've been listening to this song for more than 40 years, and it's still as amazing as ever! I thank the gods that I had the opportunity to hear Jon play it live. Life changing moment for sure. Miss him so much, but his legacy lives on!

I saw them at the Long Beach arena around 1972 with Ritchie, awesome show! really inspired me to learn how to play Hammond organ; Jon Lord was an amazing player who was a true innovator with a unique sound of a very distorted organ that fit well with a heavy metal band

That organ tone(keyboard/synth, whatever) is such a instantly recognizeable John Lord sound man. That kinda honky organ, just screaming with those wicked trmolo runs, gah damn. This man and Reo Speedwagon have been responsible for at least 6 pairs of 200-500watt speakers getting just beyond absolutely smoked. But yknow, dude rocks hard, and the music must be jusy slightly pain inducing to fully transcend the munsanity of everyday existence. I dont regret a single pair of speakeds dying. They lived valiantly until they let smoke out. It was crazy, the smoke went right for the nearest water source, too...😂😂😂
