"Forget the rest"...what an insult. Yes this the perhaps the most popular line up of Deep Purple, but to just "forget" the last almost 30 years is absurd. Purple right now are just as successful if not more successful than they've ever been. What a rubbish comment

@@bofinnpoulsen249 - again, that is simply your opinion…Purple are probably more successful right now than they’ve ever been. This lineup has been around almost 25 years and Morse has been in the band way longer than Ritchie ever was. They have an enormous following right now.

I was at this concert and, as good as "Perfect Strangers Live" is, I'd like to see the full film of this one. It was the night George Harrison joined the band onstage for "Lucille" and, AFAIK, the only time they played "Lucille" the whole tour. They did not play anything from "Who Do We Think We Are" or "Fireball". "Strange Kind of Woman" was played, but that was a single only here in Oz and did not appear on the local release of "Fireball" unlike some of the versions released O/S.

06/21/2024@8:40 AM EDT--I cannot believe what I just heard, even though I did. There's a reason Ritchie Blackmore sent Jon L. to Kansas, code word=died. Too bad it had to take so long-- Rainbow is not only an official name of a band, but is also a game that is inspired from The Wizard of Oz. it is a word game that musicians insisted on playing. I know that makes no sense at all, but it is true. This is why there are shades of Deep Purple in Black Sabbath. In fact, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow often opens with scenic talk and music from The Wizard of Oz at concerts. In this one, Jon L. was able to overdub Ritchie's guitar intro, and also intermittently throughout the entire concert, with guitar Jon L. secretly recorded in his sound keyboard. Seems as though Ian Gillan suspected this, and lured Jon L. Roger g. and Ian p. into yet, another sense of false security---One can easily hear and see what Jon L. is doing, much to his chagrin here of late, case in point, the cello sound--If that cello sound was really coming from Ritchie's guitar, he would be using a violin bow, as Ritchie has done numerous times, in keeping with jimmy page-- _One may ask, why.? It ties directly into the J(ealousy) word and the wizardry powers that both Ritchie Blackmore and jimmy page possess that all musicians want, and try any way they can, to steal those powers/ It makes me wonder, has anyone ever experienced an unexplainable happenings at any Led Zeppelin and or Deep Purple/Rainbow shows.?---something deemed as a"supernatural phenomenon", perhaps something and or someone flying in the air-- --Seems as though Ritchie fixes the problem, the reason the solo sounds so different than usual---

Ian getting that close to Blackmore in "his space" and RB smiling was a rare event. It just wasn't done. Have no clue to why someone didn't dot his eye. Blackmore burned thru more band and crew members thru his career with his tantrums and narcissism. BFD he plays a decent guitar
@JokersWild704 жыл бұрын
Well, this wasn't Rainbow, so Blackmore couldn't just get rid of who he wanted, when he wanted. But you're totally right: Ritchie did not like anyone over on his side of the stage at any point. Gillan hadn't started annoying him yet, lol.
