The guitar riff is stolen from Astrud Gilberto’s 'Maria Quiet' (1966) and Carlos Lyra's 'Maria Moita' (1964) Otherwise, Deep Purple stole the music from Brazilian singers.

I've been listening since 1971, the first album I heard was Deep Purple In Rock. I listen to them to this day, this is a band for all times and peoples!!! No one has come close to them, they are number one!

I have heard many stories about Blackmore in the past,,however I spoke to him for at least a hour after a gig one night in England and he nothing but praise for other guitar players , in fact the whole conversation was about other players and how Good he thought they were, I think a lot of this stuff about him being a ass is just hype, I found him to be a realy humble nice guy with a good word for all.

Most of what I hear is in regards to his bandmates and how he likes to be in control. I read that the main reason he started Rainbow is because he wanted a band where he called all the shots and had the undisputed authority to hire and fire band members at will. I'm not sure how much of that is true and how much of it is embellished. Either way, no one can deny his brilliance.

Мне не нравится то что Deep Purple украли у бразильских певцов таких как Carlos Lyra и Astrud Gilberto. Они украли гитарный рифф с других песен: 'Maria Quiet' (1966) и 'Maria Moita' (1964).

So sorry to learn of Jon Lord's passing. Such incredible talent. When this video was made, Deep Purple was at the top of their game - "the summer side of life." Worries of health issues or passing away must have seemed so distant back then.

@@bsavov4300 Я был в Болгарии после 9-го класса - тогда из-за железного занавеса никуда невозможно было попасть, и мы думали то будет праздник, а нас на весь месяц одели в голубую форму и оправили в Бригаду полоть сорняки! Но к музыки, в отличие от СССР в Богарии был доступ!

В моём же районе, Люблинском, одни заводы (от АЗЛК то почтовых ящиков) да колхозы, так что публика была неоднородна, большинство тащилось от попсы, посему доступ был затруднён ... Но информация была доступна, спасибо Севе и разоблачающим статьям в МК и КП и в Ровеснике ;) ... У меня все эти статьи были вырезаны - факты от изобличающей пропаганды отделены ;)
