I haven't seen this strategy for Industrial Sabotage mentioned in this comment section yet, so here's how I've learned to trivialize a good chunk of the Caretaker fight: 1. Have whoever is playing Driller (whether that's you or someone else) equip both damage mods on the satchel charge. The Tier 4 mod is up to personal preference. 2. Position the Driller above the Caretaker. Driller can dig a tunnel upwards to accomplish this or ask for a bridge of platforms from Engineer. 3. Once the yellow health bars appear, Driller needs to land a satchel charge on top of the Caretaker, and it must be as close to the center as possible, otherwise a corner might be just out of the blast radius. 4. Left click to witness comedic levels of efficiency. 5. Repeat steps 3-4 two more times. Driller may need to resupply to do so in the last phase. Note: Make sure Driller is capable of avoiding phase bombs, shredders, patrol bots, and any other unanticipated threats; nothing good stems from a downed Driller that's isolated/in an inconvenient spot for the rest of the team. Damn. Since Industrial sabotage was a season 1&2 special mission type, and it's not a special mission type anymore in season 3, they added it to the normal mission rotation. Now they can show up everywhere, in weekly core hunt assignments, promotion assignments and even in Deep Dives. that's rough.

If you love the thrill of clutching so hard that you were one false move away from it all being over then elite deep dives are for you.

That week’s dive sure was something. It went fairly smoothly for my attempt with public lobbies because we synergized well and didn’t get any dumbass detonator spawns. The abundance of nitra we had helped. I would also suggest having one or two people focusing down tentacles since those at the main source of caretaker’s damage. We also played heavily around the cave entrances since they provide cover and distance for safer resupply. Had our engie set up turrets around there to deal with patrol bots and a few trenches by resupplies that driller made. You have to prep and position out of your mind for haz 5 sabotage. I am of the opinion that there should be an additional tunnel and cave generated in it so there’s more places to play around.

Just a tip, when you're behind cover and the ground shakes, aka the tentacle unburrows nearby, just charged attack melee it, instakill. Also, the best way to handle the caretaker from my experience is for the main damage dealers aka Gunner/Engi to stay above pulse shield levels while Driller and scout constantly remove the tentacles - they are the main threat since on haz 5 they annihilate you in one stab

Man, you know a particular week’s EDD was hell if you can still remember it a month later. As soon as I saw that one hacking pod that landed in the pit it came back to me like a ‘Nam flashback. When I ran it with a friend, neither of us played driller so we were forced to do the hacking in that tiny corner, and it cost us at least one attempt.

My first EDD was a pain as well. It was a swarmageddon salvage in Magma Core... With a terrible map generation. You were doing well, Induatrial Sabotage is the worsr though. Rock and Stone!

I don't know if a crassus can spawn in a deep dive. I do know, however, that whether or not they spawn in a mission is predetermined - if you abort and restart the mission, it will still spawn. In this way, it fits into the same category as Spitball Infectors, Brood Nexus's, and Naedocyte breeders.

Just wait until you've got neurotoxin on your hammerhead... useless on robots but quite an ammo saver when fighting groups. One shot near enemies, infected, watch the weakest die.

I did the Elite Deep Dive recently with some randos and I got wrecked on that caretaker fight like you did. We ended up doing a revive chain, but the constant suppression of phase bombs and robot arms ultimately lead to our downfall. I have done some hard deep dives, but that has to take the cake. Also do you have a mod to give you more grenades? You are holding 6 tactical leadbursters when the vanilla default is 4, and last vid you had 10 axes where the vanilla default is 8.

dang, I remember this mission on last week's elite dive. I tried doing it solo and reached to the point of fighting the caretaker and I just couldn't do it past the first phase. Good to know it is actually a haz 5 difficulty, I actually had no idea. It's pretty rough xD Though did you guys manage to complete it still after the video (like keep retrying or Nah?) I actually just gave up after 3 tries lol

I was lucky, on this EDD I landed on the server of a hacker, so it was just a formality. Would have been rough to do the Caretaker without unlimited nukes
