I'm surprised but happy to know that Dennis Brown was such a fan of black American soul singers. I'm a black American but Dennis is my favorite singer in any genre.

The interview with Sonjay Pottinger and Marcia Griffith is a premier in feminism and Africana Womanism. Pottinger tried to bun out Rasta on the low, bun out Ganja, and boost Marcia over Bob. While Marcia defended Rasta, Reggae Bob and the Livity, and by the end of the interview Pottinger pulls out a cancer stick.

I used to watch this on Channel 4 every Friday night. I had the book that went with the series. I was a skinhead at the time and watched it to hear the music, I didn't know anything about Rastafari or anything but through the programme and the book learnt quite a lot which was massively valuable. I'm 53 now,still listening to the killer tunes I listened to in my youth. Great series
@@Bromley68 fantastic!!thanks so much,i just ordered it !!

Wish they made a documentary about the reggae being produced in the late 80s, the digi synth heavy simmons/ linn drums Era. Like Adrian Miller, Jr Grant. etc...

@cartoonworld10006 жыл бұрын
omalone11 I mean he is known as the crown prince of reggae, but I know what you mean people always mention Bob, even though Dennis has been doing his thing for longer than the Wailers has.
@agentblaze4215 жыл бұрын
cartoonworld1000 people outside of Jamaica will always mention Bob in any conversation about Reggae, Truth is Dennis Brown was a bigger draw in Jamaica than Bob was when he was alive.
