@@ErikD71 Well, that was an excellent request, Erik! 👏👏👏 They are so good at getting suggestions on! Supertramp is such a fabulous group, in my opinion. They loved both songs - that's 2 for 2! Hopefully, they will circle back around to "Child Of Vision" sometime. "Goodbye Stranger" & "Give A Little Bit" are a little more well known but if it gets a bunch of "likes" I'm certain they will hit it! 🎵❤️

Rico & Crys - That was a clarinet solo - I believe the first time you've had one. They are rare! That was the first instrument I picked up to learn how to read & play music from my Grandfather's collection. He was a Big Band Leader in the 50's & early 60's. It became my "main" instrument for 8 years - though he taught me several others. When he passed away he left me his trumpet & clarinet. Part of me wishes I was given all of his instruments but that's very selfish of me. I'm truly am grateful. I allowed my daughter (his Great Granddaughter which I named after his wife) to carefully use it in band class for 3 years. How proud he would be!

I've always assumed he was a performer and in the beginning of the song he's talking about how he walks along life and doesn't really notice things like the greenery and his wife ignores him so he's happier on the road because the fans make him feel appreciated. But , like everyone else in this world there's never enough time to do everything you want to and you wake up one day realizing your older and life slipped by and you never accomplished your dreams. Those were my favorite lines Too..."When you look through the year's and see what you might have been, oh what you could have been, if you'd had more time !! (Always made me sad ). Those lyrics are so true of life for us all... The older I become, ( now in my 60s). The stronger my faith is and I feel that I am where I am because experiences in life make you change your direction and God puts you where he needs you. I'm more at peace now knowing that! Thanks for your video's. You two are wonderful. ❤️

"From Now On" is my favorite SONG amongst other great tracks like "Babaji", "Even in the Quietest Moments", "Fool's Overture", & "Lover Boy". *Also, an excellent song off of BIA that greatly aided me in plodding through a particularly harrowing divorce, "Casual Conversations". I have a totally different take on this song. I first heard it while working in Saudi Arabia as a 20 something year old young man. I was a looooong way from home. Prior to working overseas I'd always considered myself just a part of the scenery, but now I was playing a part in a movie show. As another lonely day became another lonely night, I'd sit on a rise looking across the empty blackness at the city lights in the far, far distance. Later in life I'd relate to "when you look through your life and you see what you could have been", not that I hadn't experienced some incredible years. But there were many years abroad. I wasn't around. Looking back, I think I might have done a few things differently. Great song, gave solace to me as young man alone in a far away land, as well as later in life. To this day, when I'm fortunate to hear it again, it brings back very introspective memories of the empty vastness of those Arabian nights! For reference, I'm now 65.

If you want to listen to one of the most amazing songs featuring a harmonica and piano listen to Times of Trouble by Temple of the Dog. Another amazing vocal performance by Chris Cornell and really great song with a tough subject matter. Footsteps by Pearl Jam is another harmonica classic. It was the first song Pearl Jam wrote together. Eddie Vedder at his best.

I think your interpretation of "taking the long way home" because you don't really want to go home is one way of thinking about it, but I also think it can be about someone who took the road less travelled - who didn't do what was expected of them, but at the end of the day they realize that they really want to be "home"

I’m so glad I found some of your older stuff - reaction videos. I found you a few months ago for the refreshing new look at what you were seeing was really going on. First I should say this song came out in ‘79 and I was a senior in HS 🫤 But Kris is basically right but for a different reason than you think. He is thinks he’s becoming bigger than he is and thinks she doesn’t appreciate him. She doesn’t appreciate how big his head is getting…. He gets a bit cocky about it - as if he’s right to think he’s “all that” But now he realizes he should’ve found his way home much sooner….

Just imagine being a parent, coming home from a long day, taking the long way home so that you can have a little extra time to yourself and imagine what your life could have been, if you made better choices. That feeling of being unappreciated, taken for granted, trapped in the prison of your decisions along the way. This is domestic claustrophobia.
