I like the use of the knuckles. I do alot of deep tissue massages. Wgat i also like to do is move the arm in 4 different postions getting muscles in shortened and lengthened states. Really helps get deep. Also when upper back issues are constant in a client i really look at the shoulders and see if there is pectorial pull going on. I find this alot. I work pectorials real good to help release upper back issues. When you lean forward and pectorals shorten the shoulders get pulled forward thus creating upper back and neck issues.

You have really nice hands. And your technique looks incredible, I wish I could get a massage from you. I do weight training and also have Ehlers Danlos syndrome (a connective tissue disorder) so I often get very tense muscles in my back especially since even there’s more strain on my muscles because my joints and ligaments are loose. However, I was curious about watching massage videos because I wanted to be able to be good at giving them myself to others!

My first thought of this video is the intention is on point. The coloring of the tissue represented deeper layer penetration. However, it appears that you’re using so much effort and they’re techniques you can implement so it gets you there faster. It always yields you the same if not better coloring of the tissue. My suggestion is a Graston tool. You’re familiar enough w the anatomy . Use the tool and you don’t have to use so much effort in the hands and wrists. Believe me being only 120 pounds and a cmt for 13 years it will benefit you in the long run.

Hi Spencer, watching this video I can honestly say you are an amazing massage therapist. You and I use similar techniques and would love to get a session from you if it’s all possible, where do you practice? As a massage therapist I know how important it is to take care of ourselves and part of taking care of ourselves involves receiving massage therapy on a regular basis. I haven’t had luck finding someone that can give me as good therapeutic massages that I used to give my clients. I say “I used to” because I am no longer in practice for years, I was forced to stop my practice due to an injury I sustained not from work as a massage therapist but from something else and unfortunately, that injury put me out of commission for quite some time now. Anyways, I’m in California, would you be kind enough to share your location or maybe you know someone near me who you’d recommend. Thank you, I wish you a continued success in your career.

Good job on the videos but i do have one concern. When using the head for leverage you're pressing his face down into the face cradle kind of hard. It seems that might be uncomfortable for many clients, especially older or females, that want deep tissue.
