I started this video after having a conversation with my buddy about maybe some things that have gotten misunderstood. This series is like nothing else that has been tried on KZfaq and since it is a tournament series it must be done this way. I answered some questions and tried to explain how the series as a whole will make sense after you watch all the episodes. Imagine starting your favorite Netflix series half way through and not understanding it and wanting to watch the last episode first. Its a PROCESS. We change things up a bit in this episode and now we have Brent in the boat. Watch out for snakes, alligators, and hogs. 😂😂

This is what fishing IS and what it has always really BEEN ABOUT.. getting and being in tuned with your surroundings and and looking for NATURE and the differences in the lake and your surroundings!!! I think over time and as technology has evolved we've all forgotten that at some point. Or at least leaned on technology more than we ever would've in the past. But when it really all comes down to it... It's about picking up the rod. KEEPING YOUR HEAD UP, watching your surroundings, and trying to find those special differences that no one else has found and catching them... At least in my opinion and that's what I've taken away from the series so far... This is great!!! 💪✌️

You and Randy Blaukat are the only channels I pay attention too because I can relate alot to the old school of bassin. That's the way my father and I fished back 24yrs ago in Lake Amistad. When the deep jig bite wouldn't work, right away we would start to hit the shallows.

Hey Todd, This is an awesome approach. Choke is such a gem. A wilderness setting that's full of fish. As a transplanted Wisconsin guy who fished tournaments for 20 years, Texas has been like learning to fish all over again. And that seems to be the nature of Choke...fluctuating water levels make it fish like a different lake each year, at least the eight years I've been in Texas. Shoreline cover becomes flooded or dry, grass beds move, perch (sunfish) spawn in different spots, and shad become players or non players. Maybe the yearly changes are why Choke is so intriguing...Next year you will have to do this all over again. Hope I get to watch.

Definitely going to have to watch these again. Thanks for describing the process. It is certainly important to keep the head up and be looking around. I really think that is what a lot of folks could take from this. I was heading down the lake I normally fish. I don't drive with blinders on to my next spot I am always looking around. In an area that hasn't been all that good (an outside creek bend with a steep drop off with a highly wooded bank) I saw a little stump sitting out of the water and realized that it hadn't been there before and slowed down to take a look. Motored over to the area and sure enough someone had cut a tree on the bank down where it dropped right into the water. 30 foot or thereabouts tall tree dropped at an angle into 17 feet of water. Deep water right up to outside bend in this lake. Didn't even check my graphs I just pitched a worm into where it looked like the tree was angling out and sure enough. Slow drop then my line took off at 90 degrees and didn't want to slow down. First fish off it was a 3 1/2 to 4 pounder. Second one was about half that size. All from keeping your eyes up and seeing something that just looked out of place. Some folks seem to think the electronics will tell them everything but common sense and awareness goes a long way.

Good stuff man. I'm liking seeing how its starting to come together in your mind. What is not working, where is not working. ✓ That leaves X, Y, and Z still open then. ✓ I wonder if (insert bait here) will work in that situation. Let's find out. That's one of the things I love most about fishing. The buildup before catching the fish. Trying to put it together. A game against myself as much as the fish. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of these. You always seem to put a lot of thought into your videos but I think even moreso into these and I dig it. Keep up the great work.

I fish team deals too, and I think it would be pretty informational to hear what your partner was thinking as well. Maybe you capture some of ya’lls game planning in the evening or insert some clips of him explaining why he was doing something because you were throwing x,y, or Z. Thanks for your time.

I would have if I had known. The reason I could do this tournament was because of how it played out. It was hard for me to know before hand. I could have done all this and we stunk it up. I also could have been like other guys and just sit on a hole all day and really no one learns anything from that. Maybe the hole or waypoint was given, either way it’s really not true fishing. Him and I think a like plus a lot of what I’m saying has his thoughts combined in there as well it’s just coming out through me.

Great advice for sure. I don't like to do same thing everyone else is doing. I try to do things different as I can. Always trying new things. Now days everyone is running from one spot to another they drop trolling motor & LS look around make couple casts then roll to the next one. I watch so many guys come & go from same points, channel swings ext & it looks like they all do same thing. I'm a kayak angler so I can run n gun anyways. I kinda have to pick areas apart. I pay very close attention to my surroundings so & I know that has caught me alot of extra fish. This is stuff these guys are totally missing. I have no problem going to spot after someone else has already fished it because I can still catch fish. So many guys are throwing same popular baits, fishing them the same way & fishing same obvious stuff.

Thanks for giving me something to think about for the rest of my work day. I was thinking about this Saturday while I was fishing. One bait challenge day, the fluke. Both prompted from you. Got me ready to move from Zoom to SK, as I wanted a little heavier bait. It seems you two are zeroing in on something solid. It's weird watching you hook fish in practice. Digging these videos!! I want to learn not 1v1, catch and cook… want to learn how to catch fish constantly every trip I go out. I work 50 to 60 hours a week so when I get to for a week or a weekend I just want to catch some fish. I bigen dust puts the icing on the cake 🎂 I fish Missouri Ozark lakes so this info is money for me!

Todd man I really like how you fish, you as a individual I like. But I just can't get into this series. I feel like I'm chewing hay. And I just can't swallow it. I'll keep trying and good luck Todd.

Fishing has been tough these past few days. Been on the bank and these fish just ain’t biting. There is a ton of blue gill schooled up but nothing is biting, I’ve been all along the bank and nothing. I got to get on the water.

Around here everyone calls all the sunfish species bream. Idk what they call yellow perch? In OH we called the yellow perch a yellow perch, bluegill - bluegill or sunfish. It's funny how different areas have different names. A guy knew I was from the north because I said a pop, instead of soda or coke...
