I like your targets you use in practice and hope you get in to making them agin.. Low recoil slugs work out very nice. I took a 8 pointer last hunting season with my hand loads using a slug called a Thug Slug with very good results And my father used the same loading to get his first deer 4 years ago.. I was always told the rifling in the slug wasn't to create spin it was to give it room to pass through different size chokes by letting the ridges compress.

Thank you for this. I've been getting my hunting area ready for the season. I've seriously thought about doing less post hunting and more tracking and stalking this year. The problem is that all of the rain we got this summer has caused my trails to be more overgrown with brush and vegetation. Carrying a full size rifle or shotgun would be more challenging. It would also be unnecessary since I would be at such close range. I've given serious thought to just takeing my Shockwave and 10 mm pistol I out. I'm glad to see the Shockwave can drop a deer just fine.

Makes sense to use the low recoil, do you think you could use those truball deep penetrators you reviewed in your shotgun setup? as they are going at 1350 or do you think they would kick too much? Interested if your setup could double for a compact bear defence setup if you could use those deep penetrators accurately

I took my shockwave to the range the other day for the first time and couldn't hit a 1L Pepsi bottle at 10 yards with buckshot 😂 they're a blast to shoot though
