Its not super hard to make a brush and doesn't cost that much to make a bucket load of them.

I just was gifted with 3 deer tails from my neighbor and have made a few brushes. I haven't inserted them into the bamboo yet but can't wait to try them out. I used dental floss to tie them. I think I'm going to let my 2 cats have their way with one of the deer tails. I had to put 2 of the tails outside to let them get past the odor. After that I'll make some more. Thanks for the video!

I really appreciate you showing at the end what the longer bristles do! I've been trying to figure out how to make shaped brushes at home (without cutting), and it looks like you need a negative cup shape to align the hairs in, and it seems that tapping is involved to get each hair tip to fall down as far as possible, but can you make those yourself? What do you make the cups from? The internet seems reticent on the subject.

that would be great for chinese calligraphy on pottery

Have you eve tried putting them in a hair stacker for fly tying? To line the tips up straight?

David Schaible beat me to the next brush video. I tied flys before making brushes but I’m still working on a particular brush.

Nice video! Was wondering if you'll be going to NCECA conference this year? If you are going, could you film your experience there?

Candice Mannette I will be taking video of some of it. I’m on the social media team. Most of what I do is on Facebook for them. Nceca has an active group during the conference.

@@timseepots That's awesome! Was trying to find videos of people's experience on attending NCECA, I'm planning to go this year, first time attendee! 👍

So I’ll see you there! A few things I think get missed by first timers. Bring a mug for the mug sale, you don’t keep the proceeds but it’s a lot of fun to participate. The student Critique room if you can get a slot can be really helpful. If you ever need something, frustrated lost or lonely there are like 5,000 family members. Just ask and someone can help you out.
