This is a project I built for my final class towards my electronics degree. It is a test stand that determines the efficiency and accuracy of John Deere finger pickup type seed meters running at simulated planting rates. I used a Click PLC (Model C0-01DR-D) from Automation Direct and a Weintek HMI (Model MT8071ip). In my opinion, these devices are very user friendly and reasonably priced, plus they are provided with free software. There are definitely some upgrades I would like to perform but budget is currently the limiting factor.
