Ilkka makes his knives in the forest the traditional way the steel of the knife is spring steel and is the only thing he doesn't take from nature to build them,sheath is Moose from animal he hunted and killed himself the insert in the sheaths are carved from Birch and each prowler carves the insert for its sheath,I have had one with curly birch scales for a couple of years now and it's never let me down liking it to a land rover is a good comparison as it will still be going strong when other knives have long given up the ghost,I own some heirloom quality knives but as a tool to get the job done it's the prowler you'll find on my belt !

I have owned and used an Ilkka Seikku Bush Prowler Knife for about 4 years. It ie well designed by a man who lives the lifestyle. It is an incredibly tough knife with a convexed grind, I stropped all the scratch marks out of the grind and it is incredibly sharp and hold its edge incredibly well. I have no criticism of this knife, but if I had made it I would have used thinner blade stock. That said, it performs very well with the convexed grind. The Spalted Curly Birch handle over Moose hide liners is very tough too.

Jon makes beyond amazing knives and is a really great guy, was camping either him last winter. I have one of his Boreal models, amazing. I have a couple videos of it on my channel.

THE BUSH PROWLER IS MY MOST USED KNIFE I HAVE LOADS OF OTHER KNIVES THAT I SPENT MUCH MORE ON FALKNIVENS ETC..- BUT THE BUSH PROWLER IS KING SUCH A NICE HANDEL It is very easy to sharpen.
