I do have a fair idea as to what I'm on about as I do big game fishing quite often , But yeah , 10k for that rod idk tbh that's a bit expenses, honestly I'd say 4-5 k and you could get it , but then your rell which is another 1-2k and the line and shit lol

So if they cut it off, this fish may not be going to Japan for sashimi purposes?

@@raygibbs7791 depending on the grade, and how big and how healthy the blue fin is, also it takes money to tag a blue fin to actually keep it and sell it. You have to get a license to fish blue fin and the rig for the boat cost thousands, and not to mention the amount of money it cost for a rod n reel that size, I’m talking over 10K just for that rod n reel. It’s insane how much money you’ll have to pay to fish these fish, but if you got the money and stuff to do it, then go ahead. But you’ll probably never catch a fish like the one in the video.

@@raygibbs7791 there is so much inspections on the fish that needs to be done to determine the price . The most expensive blue fin ever sold, sold for like 1.2 million or so . Japan doesn’t really like the way Americans hunt bluefin though because they tend to ruin the value of it when they pierce it is the wrong spots. Also color of the meat shows the diet of the fish . If the fish had a good diet , the mead becomes a little more red in color and fat content isn’t tainted thus making it more flavorful. Most high end japan sushi chefs serve the tuna raw though so idk how I feel about them cooking it the way they did . You definitely don’t put maple syrup on it . That’s just a Canadian thing .

I thought I caught that! I was a bit lazy to go back in the video and thought it was pretty unlikely anyway. Wow was I wrong, how do you look at a gigantic behemoth beast of a fish like that and guess it’s weight right down to the single digit pound??? That’s insanity. Man knows his fish. I imagine that was the equivalent of dropping a sewing pin/needle off a 3 story building onto a dart board on the floor and maybe not a 100% perfect bullseye but at least land it in the red in the dead center middle.

I grew up in Florida offshore fishing is literally in my blood, Clearwater Beach Tampa Bay. There’s Roads named after my great grandfather grandfather and his brother there’s books written about my uncle Gene for what he’s done for the king fish and inshore fishery. This is something I’ve always wanted to do I am Living Kansas now chasing big Whitetail but my first true love offshore fishing is a passion. I’ll never lose and I’ll never forget where my roots are. That was an awesome video. Awesome fish I very much enjoyed it. Thank you for your time posting this I must admit it’s got me, Jacked wanting to go Nova Scotia chasing giant tuna what a great job sir Thank you again.
