@@nitaipal5355 Well sir you see Minister of Defence is really facing some financial problems it is not because govt is not providing proper funding it is because Army spend its 68% of budget in giving salary, pension and facilities. If we will give the Assam rifle to the Minister of defence then it will cause a huge problem because they will have to give them salary and facilities as well from there own budget and that will cause some issues. RAM RAM🙏

Assam rifles should be undercontrol on Mod because operational control is more important more than administrative control even this force uniform & structure similar to indian army so think it should be under control on mod and merge with army or basically forces always design for operational purposes.

It is oldest paramilitary force in India so because it is not Police Force compared to other CAPF's forces now I think it is fully under of ministry of defence and this forces work operations to jointly in Indian army in northeast this forces is under ministry of defence it's very Helpful......... It was a Paramilitary force because at the time of its inception, the British faced many tribal raids in NE India, their tea gardens, houses, offices, police stations were raided on almost a daily basis. Local police cannot handle the situation, and stationing an army Garrison in every Tribal areas was an expensive programme for the Brits. Moreover, to organise expeditions into tribal lands by the Army was a costly affair, the mountainous jungle terrain was too difficult for regular infantry of that time as none of them were trained for jungle warfare and the broken terrain means that supplies may take weeks and months to arrive at a location. Therefore the British needed a force which could function both as a police unit (guarding British assets and areas) as well as a Light Infantry force that can venture into thick jungle tribal areas without need to wait for logistics and supply. The answer was, the Assam Rifles (Named Cachar Levy then) manned by local friendly tribes who knows the jungle and by the Gurkhas who are expert moutaineers. As it grew, the Cachar Levy becomes the Assam Rifles, an all India force as we know now.

It is the only paramilitary force which has participated in both world wars and wars even after the independence. They have earned more medals and accolades than any other CAPFs. It's because of AR and Indian army that NE is prospering with peace. This shows what are they capable of. Govt should use this force to its full potential by putting them into MOD.

Definitely to MOD when all other regimenta like Garhwal rifles Gorkha rifles Rajputana rifles comes under Indian Army then Assam Rifles should too. They have a history and a dignity to maintain which I am sure would be maintained better by their operational wing MOD.

Btw, there is a regular infantry regiment called Assam Regiment founded in 1942 solely to fight the Japanese during WWII, and it is still a part of the Indian Army. Kindly do not confuse between the two. i e Assam Rifles (Para Military) and Assam Regiment (Regular Army infantry)

Jai hind, Assam Rifles is one of the oldest and most decorated force of INDIA but it has not been given its place that is MoD . so, I must request the Govt of India to kindly bring it under one ministery. since it jepordiseing the welfare of troops and effecting there moral.

we can divide them sir in ration of 50:50 but based on situation we can shift this number...... based on performance of cadets in training we can distribute them and can secretly use them too.....

Only Assam Rifles can operate effectively in the harsh jungle of North East India no need of merging with ITBP or BSF.. It has a long history and is the oldest paramilitary forces in India fighting in both the World Wars..Let it be the way it is, CAPF can't fight the World Wars Assam Rifles did..

The forces have shown the good amount of dedication side by side With Armed forces so the full control admin and ops and grants. Should be kept under MOD instead of MHA as they have always shown the more dominant nature by ops as a good support for Armed forces instead of border patrolling forces like BSF. And CAPF also the calibration and collaboration between army and AR. Has been great and everyone is a witness to that so taking away ops control from Army will be a complete bad Idea.

Ministry of Defence because they trained like Indian army soldiers and I must say indian army should include assam rifles into army as a regiment of regular army like garhwal rifles... Because they fought in world War 1 and 2 like military and it is the oldest paramilitary of our country formed in 1825 munch before many regiment that today included in army... Eagerly waiting for Assam rifle to come under Indian Army, when will? Gorkha Rifle, Rajputana Rifle, Garhwal Rifle and Jammu and Kashmir rifle all come under Army. Why not to Assam rifle. Adding Assam Rifle in Indian Army it will strengthen Indian Army in numbers and could be world most powerful military.

Par agar ye police organization ko army bana denge to fir reservation khatam ho jayega aur 50% CPO wale ko ghar baithna parega kyonki fouj mai young soldiers chahiye hote hai reservation bharti police constable nahi... isliye jo hai wo bahut achha hai ...army ki service itni achhi bhi nahi hai..it is really taught...

Assam Rifles should be included in MOD cause we don't need to explain it again n again about its duty n operationally duties of insergencies. So MOD knowingly not doing/accepting it.

The battles including conventional wars fought by AR are countless but some well known are : •WW1 •WW2 •1962 Indo-sino war •1971 Indo-pak •1988 Ops pawan(sri Lanka) •6th dogra ambushed (launched attack in NE collab with para) 2015 The point is AR never comes into lime light Army tooks all the credit

Army Officers are sent on deputation to Assam Rifles & inspite of being a para military force it is a highly professional organisation just like the Army. Practically speaking its efficiency will continue to exist till such time it functions under the Army & finally under the jurisdiction of MOD.

For all purposes Force be placed under Ministry of Defence on the lines of BRO. Practically it forms a part of Army and is doing successfully.
