Such a non-biased bit of reporting. It's so refreshing. You do a great job of letting people say their thoughts, ask good questions but not things that are going to make them look dumb. It really helps people see where the issues lay but where some are misguided. Fantastic job.
@sekaiyoru013 ай бұрын
Non-biased? Andrew barely criticizes his side and claims everything that the right is saying about the left is also overblown or used as a scapegoat.
@ajaydillon47593 ай бұрын
@@sekaiyoru01 being non-biased doesn't mean criticizing both sides. Other than a few small statements here and there he mostly just let people talk about why they were there and why they thought what he did. Often followed up by examples of what they were talking about about to show they have some backing to what they claim.
@sekaiyoru013 ай бұрын
@@ajaydillon4759 Yes, he lets people talk, but most of this video is him editorializing his beliefs under a "both sides, they're trying to divide us" veneer, while also overwhelmingly dispelling anything that the right was saying. And what is even more interesting is that he had nothing to say regarding the so-called "Christians" that he was interviewing at the end using loaded political language and platitudes like, "Christian nationalism" or "Jesus would've supported the migrants." Yeah I guess the Crusades never existed then. Such blatent heretical nonsese. As a fairly young guy, I've seen enough to identify bad actors. If Andrew was truly committed to a sense of impartialiy, he would've also done research on these people, and what I found was that these "Christians" are affiliated with progressive Democratic candidates and inflammatory political PACs like The Lincoln Project that spew vitrolic hatred against Trump supporting conservatives. What really did it for me was how Andrew completely disregarded issues such as shoplifting in San Francisco under the same "it absolutely has no affect on you" umbrella framing it as a conservative media narrative. Yeah, right lmao, you can literally find videos of local news stations reporting about this phenomenon. This is what I mean and it shows how disingenous and bad faith Andrew really is. It's not surprising considering he's a weed-smoking leftist and would rather highlight thing that overwhelmingly pertain to his side while omitting the rest.
@ajaydillon47593 ай бұрын
@@sekaiyoru01 a novel for a novel I guess... I don't feel he was overwhelmingly dispelling what the "right" had to say. He gave them ample time to explain themselves. Showed video evidence that supported their claims, then simply commented on the disconnect between what these people claim the problem seems to be and what they're actually doing at the border. This is by far the most centrist view I've seen on the topic, and that's coming from someone who is quite conservative. While yes, the "Christians" he interviewed at the end have their own motives and can't be viewed as wholly noble in their goal, the fact they spent their time on air actually talking about what Christ taught and how to act really helps put into perspective the disconnect between the "Christians" at these rallies actions and motives, when compared to what Christ actually taught. On that note, I don't think using the crusades to further your argument about how Christ would handle the situation is a great way to prove any point. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who looks at the crusades as a righteous endeavor that wasn't tainted by corrupt people within the church. Even Catholics. Honestly, it's a terrible way to defend this stance of a Christian army whose goal is to spread hate, discontent, and discourage people from helping one another. Not very Christ-like behaviour for people who claim to be doing what God wants in my opinion. People like this are why Christians are getting an increasingly bad name for themselves. Also, I think you may have missed the whole point of him saying many of these issues have no effect on you. Like shoplifting in San Francisco. If you don't live there (and I can tell you don't ) then no, it does not have an effect on you. His point is not that it doesn't exist or isn't a problem but more so about the strange prioritization many put on these topics that are very far outside their sphere of affect. P.S. using the phrase "as a young guy, I've seen enough to identify ..." Is extremely oxymoronic. Might want to step back and look at how much that hurts your credibility.

I simply sit back and watch the charade. when I was a kid we had what was called the war on terror. We lost all our privacy and surveillance was ramped up. Americans were treated as terrorist suspects and they warned us about sleeper cells. With the current administration, they pulled out of Afghanistan, giving our enemy of 20 years a huge stockpile of weapons and now they have opened our border for anyone from the third world to come in unchecked and get financial support and housing. "The solution is not more hate, the solution is more engagement" is such a simple quote but is a very important one today. We are sometimes so set on our opinion that we never ask the right questions to the opposing side to understand why they truly oppose us. Through this careful exploration fueled by full mental engagement on all sides we can much more easily find common ground and determine which stories we follow are real issues and which are just stories meant to contribute to the divisions that negatively effect everyone. I hope more people learn from these videos because this one had a lot to say even though not a lot happened. Great work.

That's pretty much how all of these stories and riots go. I was working in an office building when the Michael Brown protests were happening in Clayton. The actual protesters were about 30-40% of the total crowd. The rest were simply media - there were more media covering the event than actual protestors. People just don't turn out to these things but the media will angle the camera shots so they look much more impressive than they are. I'm not saying that organizing is a bad thing - I'm simply saying that the media always sells an over inflated narrative because otherwise no one would watch the segment.
