@@chrissmith7513 Yep! When they were out free, they try to pawn their children off on anybody willing to babysit. When it's jail time, all of a sudden they want to take loving care of those children they barely looked at.

I’ve seen that happen before. Very strange. Defendants must think they seem more needy if they have more children, and, therefore, should receive a lighter sentence. I have never known it to work.

@@BVM84 that's because everyone has different underlying issues or criminal history, you don't hear everything about a defendant in a these hearings, all of those stuff are discussed and considered by the DA even before it comes to the judge

It's bad enough to make a stupid choice, get caught and find oneself on probation. But then, having dodged the first bullet, go out and run a risk repeating acts that one is obviously not very good at. He got a second chance and still could comprehend the consequences. I just don't get it.

Why is she giving him such a hard time about crying? Crying doesn't mean he's blaming anyone else for his actions. He's crying because he's upset with himself for making bad choices. Crying is not unreasonable before getting sent to prison.

Far from a hard time, she gave him light treatment in thinking of his crimes and the victims he and his wife left in their wake. He wasn't going through other people's mailboxes hoping to steal some junk mail. Anybody who got a hard time was likely any of his victims who couldn't pay certain bills because a check made out to them had been stolen from their mailbox. Moreover, somehow he had two more children when he was brought before Judge Boyd the second time, and suddenly there was no fifteen-year-old. So, he perjured himself and nothing was said about that. At any rate, however many children they have, and regardless of age, it's a fair bet that he and his wife didn't teach them to be upstanding citizens. If they did find a decent moral code by which to live, they didn't get it from their parents. At the very least, this is what they have to remember all their lives, that their parents were nothing but opportunistic thieves, not caring who they hurt to get what they wanted. And there are people who will decide that the apple never falls far from the tree. They might well be upstanding citizens, the children, but if they keep close to their parents, others will take note of the entwinement and silently put them in a high risk category. There are opportunities they will never see if they haul their parents out for display. That's just true. Also, he didn't get sent to prison. He sent himself to prison.
