Why don't you just talk to your potential or imaginary "enemy" ? Isn't it something what your Holy man was preaching about ? You are part of World community. Be responsible, prove that you deserved to be resurrected after WW 2. You had such potential, but still can't get over Katherine the Great. By the way wasn't she - Katherin the lover of the last Polish king ? Look at your own actions. Polish aristocracy, lunacy of Liberum Veto, corrupted and backward church. Now, who is threatening you ? Maybe you should simply look in the mirror. Uncle Sam is far, faaar away. He and grandpa Joe will sell you more that you ever need. It is only business. Americans know polish jokes. Some might even pinpoint your location on the map. But you call yourself Europeans and smart ones. Choice is yours. Just forget about your past empire and stop meddling in other countries affairs. You wanted to punish Iran not long ago by hosting anti Iran conference. Now housing and parade Swetlana a "future leader" of your neighbor Bielorussia. In the latest move your clewer politicians want to dismantle Russia. Poles - don't you love your children ?

@@wadopotato33 It may or may not be cheaper, but the salaries and taxes would remain in Poland. They Korean tanks fit a different role than the larger Western MBTs. Most of the bridges on Europe can't support the weight of an Abrams or Leopard. As far as drones go, until something is able to replace the role of a tank, tanks will be needed. That, and anti-drone tactics are being developed about as quickly as drone tactics. A 50 cent shell can knock out a $500 drone, as can 10 bucks worth of netting.

With the horses, it's a myth, it was part of German propaganda to boost the morale of German soldiers. In fact, the Polish army was very strong for the area, while they were not mobilized, because the allies told them not to mobilize the army so as not to provoke Hitler, it was thought that the war could still be avoided
@johnnyenglish583
@johnnyenglish583 8 ай бұрын
You're right, Poland was about 10 years behind Germany in terms of technology (back in those days, 10 years in aircraft development was like 25 years today; compare the biplanes of the 1920s with the aluminium monoplanes of the 1930s, it's a different era), but the story about cavalry isn't quite true. Yes, Poland and Germany both had cavalry units. They were particularly well suited to operate in the eastern parts of Poland, which had a very sparse network of metalled roads and huge swathes of marshes. In fact, cavalry could move much more freely than wheeled vehicles. But the famous story about Polish cavalry charging German tanks is a product of German propaganda. Polish cavalry did charge a unit of German infantry, and in fact the Germans panicked and were totally routed. But soon after, a German armoured unit counterattacked and naturally hit the Poles very hard. With no ATGMs in existence at the time, light infantry/cavalry was pretty much helpless against tanks. At that point, the Germans filmed the site of the battle, with dead Polish cavalrymen and German tanks, perpetuating the myth of the Poles charging against tanks. Another contribution to the myth was Andrzej Wajda's 1959 film "Lotna", which has a scene of a Polish cavalryman attacking tanks, but this is a poetic reference to the helplessness of Poland against a stronger enemy, not a realistic portrayal of the actual fighting.

Another important escalation event not mentioned, but of course very relevant aviation wise, was Ryanair Flight 4978 in 2021 between Lithuania and Greece (both EU and NATO members) and the 737 involved was registered in Poland. Whilst overflying Belarusian airspace, it was forced to diver to Minsk National Airport under false pretences (ATC claiming there was a bomb on board), despite this airport actually being further away than the intended destination, in order to abduct 2 passengers. This was a significant event in terms of additional sanctions, the banning of Belarusian airlines from flying through EU Airspace, etc.

Poland is on a BIG military material spending spree aimed at making its fairly flat terrain look much more formidable to cross given their big armored divisions, air power and increased manpower. As highly trained as its ready and reserve forces will be Poland will soon be able to stand against Russia in any conventional weapons attack. And backed by US and other NATO forces Poland will be more than a match for Russian forces let alone Belarus forces. Russia would, to its regret, discover what TOTAL NATO combined arms tactics can do.

Neither is survivable enough to do what's needed in that airspace. What Ukraine needs F-16s for is especially air-to-air employment of AMRAAM to atrit the Russian air force and wider employment of HARM. That said, if they can start contesting the airspace they'll need capability CAS assets to follow up on those successes so probably best to start that process now instead of waiting until afterward and giving Russia time to adapt.

Not enough firepower, not enough armor, not enough of them built to sell 96 just like that and not really made for the job that Poland is buying for, which is decimating advancing Russian armor and not providing support for spec ops taking St.Petersburg.

@johnn1250 Canadians have a much higher standard of living and far better and more modern infrastructure and social benefit programs than Poland. That is where large amounts of tax dollars have gone rather then into a military that rarely sees action and certainly not on its borders. Australia is the same because our threat levels have been low for decades.

What Poland spent on the apache helicopters, they could have built super cobras that are simpler and will stay in the fight much longer.
@amazin7006
@amazin7006 9 ай бұрын
Cobra is better for Naval operations, Apache much better for land battles and mountainous regions in the attack role. Keep in mind the Apache was specifically built for a European battlefield, that was its original role. It also has the benefit of having better information technology leading to a better interconnected battlefield. Poland is incredibly smart with these acquisitions, the napkin math does not do it justice.

Can that Apache stop a tactical nuke? Belarus 🇧🇾 has about 500
@fabianrolewski172
@fabianrolewski172 9 ай бұрын
Bro USA, uk and france has 6500+ and Belarus doesn't have nukes russia has and they gave it to there puppet state and yes Belarus is a puppet because with out russia they are weaker than Serbia and a strong country doesn't have to threaten nukes but by military force only and if Belarus activates one Nuke they are done, west will steam roll russia and Belarus as shown in Ukrainie who has a tiny part of nato weaponts and if you say that Belarus has nukes you are showing that you are weak with out them and you are ready to destroy every thing just because you are losing. And yes anti missile system can stop a Nuke and probably half can't work.

Poland isn’t snowed by the shenanigans of Belarus. Far from it. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what Belarus is up to. Their actions are clearly provocative and it is clear and plain they are pressing for a fight. When Poland gets all this new hardware, the actions of Belarus will change or Belarus could find out how serious Poland is about their sovereignty. This acquisition isn’t a ruse. It is a change that will cause Belarus to think twice before they pick a fight. It will also cause NATO to step up and help if needed. NATO isn’t backing down. It would be unwise to provoke any more conflictive situations. They already have enough issues on their plate.

You could've stopped at "The main benefactor is the United States." That would explain much. And as an American I would like to add that the "U.S." is British, not American. I know people will be confused by that statement, but it is an irrefutable fact. It's not Americans who want the war to expand. It's the British. It's always the Brits. Always.
