Yes....Dolly is a national treasure, and this is based on a true story. She grew up in extreme poverty in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. She has written thousands of songs, but I can't remember exact number. She's also a class act and very smart.

Dolly Parton is 78 years old and when she finally became wealthy, she created Dolly Parton‘s imagination library. It’s a program for all children newborn to five years old where you sign your child up and once a month you get a new book for five years for your child She pays for everything the shipping no matter where you are and little children get to have storybook and their own little imagination library for free. Dolly Parton is an angel on this earth. She writes all her own songs, and she’s beloved by so many of us. The one song that hurt my heart so much, was the song called Little Andy. Get the tissues out if you’re gonna listen to it. Thank you for covering her music. Many blessings to you young man.

Yes, it's a true story. This song is so iconic that The Smithsonian Museum asked to have the coat to display but neither she nor her mama could remember what had happened to it. She said it undoubtedly got passed down to the next younger, the one after that & so on until it was completely worn out. So her mama made another one & that one's at The Smithsonian.

Amazing lyrical and musical gifts. And a legacy of so many relatable songs and stories. Her creativity seems effortless. But there is so much remarkable about Dolly. Pure soul. Character. Humility. Wisdom. Intelligence. Incredible drive. Purpose. Compassion. Kindness. Humor. Strength. Authenticity. Honor. The list could go on. Savvy and sincere, Dolly has truth in her. Her personality is so down-to-earth and her voice is so sweet. Her charity is legendary. Her life is a blessing. Her heart is wider than the whole South. She is an American treasure!

She became known to people at first as the girl singer, duet partner to Porter Wagoner on the Porter Wagoner show. When she left the show it really upset him and he started suing her and she said he just wouldn’t listen to reason about it so she wrote I Will Always Love You for him and played it for him and I think he finally came to some kind of peace with it before he died. I think he just loved her too much to let her go and she wanted to spread her wings and fly like that eagle she sings about. Anyway, she flew and isn’t the world so much better off because of it? I love me some Dolly!! 💖

I remember hearing this song when I was little and we weren’t even lower middle class. Like Dolly Parton we grew up poor, never knew it till I was much older and I was starting my family with a 4 yr old that really didn’t know me I was half way around the world. 7 years later my new wife and I brought a new boy to my life. This also goes back to Joseph in the Bible. Dolly doesn’t need money, when a tornado came through and destroyed Pidgin Forge and Dollywood. A lot of those people don’t have home insurance. Dolly made a few calls and really didn’t want it to go out, she rebuilt the houses of the town she grew up in and rebuilt the park. That was from her pocket and from her heart. Dolly should be the standard, she doesn’t look down on anyone and will help anyone without being asked.

This song is from a true experience that she had. There were many country stars that were dirt poor growing up. That's how they made their fame and fortune, telling stories from when they were poor, and growing up. If you liked this song, check out Loretta Lynn's Coal Miner's Daughter. Dolly wrote or cowrote every song she ever sang. She wrote songs that a LOT of other stars sang as well. Look it up, you'd be surprised!

My family was nowhere near as poor as Dolly's, but my father was a nurse and my mother a stay at home Mom to take care of their six kids, so money was tight. My mother made many of my clothes, not always stylish, but they did the trick. My "friends" made fun as children often do, but I knew my parents did the best they could, but I was loved and supported, and we always had enough to eat. Dolly's lyrics speak of the important things in life, and try to remind us that expectations of an easy life are the enemy of happiness.

Dolly is a prolific songwriter. Yes she revealed it was autobiographical when she performed it on the Johnny Carson show. You MUST see the Barbara Walters interview of Dolly Parton where Barbara Walters is patronizing toward Dolly treating her like she is a dumb hick. Dolly answers with grace and charm - an amazing interview showing how classy Dolly is. Tip: the interview where Dolly is wearing an aqua dress and rose in her hair.

Hello My Friend, At this point in her life Dolly had already written 3,800 songs. This is a true story, with Dolly being 1 of 12 kids living in a shack in the Tennessee Mountain’s. Dolly is a treasure & watching her preform is so unique. She is a natural comedian who pokes fun at herself. No electricity nor running water people asked about bathing. Dolly said in the Summer they would go down to the creek splashing water down here, over up & around (she goes over her boobs she moves her hands) laughing. In the Winter Momma would fill the washtub & heat some water on the stove, a wood stove & everyone bathed in that same wash tub. She would laugh talking about growing up. Did you notice her plucking away on that guitar with long nails & no guitar pic. Dolly in many concerts goes through every instrument she plays guitar’s of every type, the fiddle, a wooden flute, a saxophone, and on & on she goes. Dolly doesn’t just write lyrics, she composes the instrumentation as well. Here is a Dolly fact: You will never see Dolly wear short sleeves, growing up she & her siblings were running around falling getting cut & being poor they didn’t have money. So, Momma would reach down pick up a needle to sew her & her brothers & sister up. Some scars she covered up with tattoos, but she started wearing long sleeves at some point. The Rock Album Dolly released on her 78th birthday in 2024 was her 50th Studio album covering Country, Pop, and Rock genres. ✌🏼 Timothy in Tallahassee, Florida 😎🌴

I read once they started making her wear fake jewelry, because if someone said oh I like those earrings or whatever, she'd take it off and give it to them. She's a kind person. She does a book program giving books to children all kinds of things. She doesn't really brag about all that she does for others. She's a humble person and been happily married for like something like 50 years.

Her concert was the best concert I have ever seen, it was her last tour. She is such a unique woman and she has a story behind every song and her song tells the stories throw her music. People have talked about her huge breast, the make-up, the outfits, even the heels she wears. One of the stories she told on stage is she liked looking different she met the town flusy(hooker) when she was a young child and she decided at a young age she was going to look like her, she thought she was beautiful. I have on my bucket list to meet her and talk to her, which if it ever happened I probably would not be able to find words to speak. There is no one that will ever be able top her, one song she does sang "He's Alive" she started sang in church, listen to the story.
