okay, i'll try make sense of this: the dad is a domestic abuser. he abused the mum and daughter to the point where they harm themselves. them freezing their blood must be an analogy that they're frozen. like the way you freeze when you're afraid. they can't do anything, stuck in this family without a choice. the mum finds out the daughter gets abused too and they comfort each other then share their experiences online (i'm assuming they also leave the abusive dad.) after sharing their experiences, they become famous. the dad then drinks lemonade. this might be an analogy of how the two women took this bad situation and turned it into something to empower others with. (turning lemons into lemonade) he being a psycho sees it as his own doing. maybe the lemonade also means he finds their suffering sweet? if he hadn't abused them, they wouldn't have a story to tell in the first place so he gives himself the credit by liking their post and drinking the lemonade. idk. this is just me guessing...

my interpretation of this video: the daughter is in an abusive household with the father abusing both her and her mother. the ice trays filled with the daughters blood represents the remnants of her psychological pain and/or self-destructive behaviour and when the mother discovers this, instead of being the adult and stopping her, she enables her daughter and engages in the behaviour with her because she is so messed up from the father's abuse that she trauma bonds with the daughter instead of doing the right thing and getting help. the fathers chair in the dark basement represents him engaging in morally questionable activities for his own enjoyment and the way the father licks the ice cubes and smiles when he sees the post shows how he gets pleasure from the suffering and damage he inflicts on his wife and daughter. it's a very disturbing short when you really think about what it means because it shows how we often bond over profoundly unhealthy things and fetishize suffering and mental illness to help normalize our own problems. I hope I explained it well enough because the symbolism in this film is actually very clever and it's very sad when you realize what it means

I think it has nothing to do with abuse as others have said. I think it's about the superficiality with which people share things online and follow absurd trends. If you notice, in the photo you see that they post on Instagram, there is the hashtag "Blood Ice Challenge". Just as if they had done it just for a challenge. In fact, the mother seems thrilled when she does it just like she's about to do something silly but fun. The grandfather then sees the post, laughs and likes it as if he didn't understand the seriousness of the thing, but as if it were simply a harmless challenge!! While of course he drinks the lemonade containing the frozen blood in a barbaric way. This short for me is the portrait of the stupidity and naivety that generations of TikTokers and Instagrammers are having, a bit like talking about the famous Blue Whale Challenge, but in an ironic way.
