@shutupmimzy I think they meant it deserves to be released as apart of an official Deftones album with all their other stand alone songs that were never put on an album. Smile and EROS need to be released as well.

It’s awesome that he would do this. I wish they would put out a second b-sides album with songs like this one, teething, lovers, the boys republic, damone, cherry waves acoustic version… just to name a few of the harder to find songs. Maybe even smile, possibly a couple eros songs instead of finishing and releasing the entire album

I can’t find an official version of it anywhere on any streaming platform, and it did not come pressed onto my vinyl copy, hence why I’m calling it a bit hard to find, or at least only common to the end of a CD. I guess for that particular song I can change hard to find to restricted availability or something

Oh yeah it’s a great hidden gem..use to have this on my MP3 player in high school end of 2000/early 2001..ah memories! lol. Another great one is Boys Republic which was on the red/black variants of White Pony. ‘Smile’ was another great one from the unreleased Eros album and I always thought ‘Lovers’ was a great one from Self Titled. Why it was stripped from album I have no idea

@shutupmimzy 38 since I came across Can’t Even Breathe! I’m at 40 total currently, after missing a couple shows within range the last 5 years. I even used to run an awful Deftones fan site called Can’t Even Breathe back in the 90s, so you could say I was a little obsessed with them. 🤣

I remember going into record surplus on pico Blvd in west LA. They had this section when you would first walk in with free music tapes. I was like what’s this? Deftones? Can’t even breathe? My own summer? I played the shit out of that cassette. Learned to play it on a six string. All I know is I definitely did not play it like that. Brutal Legend!!! 😳😱

Same here, first time I heard of them was when the My Own Summer (Shove It) video was on MTV and I said to myself "Oooh, I Like This"! Then when I listened to the ATF album, I instantly fell in love with their sound. To me this is the best album out of my entire music collection.

@@DaveThomson I was only 12 lol . I met deftones through a friend who came over one day for the last time I would ever see him , handed me the “ around the fur album “ and told me to keep it . It stayed on repeat for hours at a time till I learned every inch of every riff . Ofc I back tracked to adrenaline quick . Root bored and engine #9 are my in my everyday play list .

The way hes keeps hitting that D chord looks like he's forgetting to or messing up, but its just how it's played. His style is like no other.

@@TheRealRansora I know how he tunes his guitars. I basically idolized him when I was a teen. I had a 6 string taken to a guitar tech just to have it calibrated to CGCFAD and not have it be slinky. I have a 7 string to the same tuning (extra D#) because of him, not Head or Munky and have one of his signature ESP 8 strings. I'm just pointing out something in his playing in the video. Wasn't a diss or critique of any kind brother. 😎👍🏻

@@mikeeclipse Oh yeah I feel that one 100%, didn't assume it was a diss or anything at all! I'm just 100% sure the reason that it looks like he's messing up is less stylistic and more because he has that extra string so he has to play it one string higher than what it normally looks it would be played like while either barring the last two strings or leaving the last string open

I remember I was on holiday in Australia in Dec 1996 and while I was out there I bought the Escape From LA soundtrack and then proceeded to listen to this one track on repeat at every opportunity for the rest of the holiday
