not just any regular anime, its an ecchi anime! not alot of people know that when they start watching, as always if you dont like it dont watch! we need more animes like this, i cant wait for Mysteries, Maidens and Mysterious Disappearances! in the meantime this anime looks to be very interesting!

I totally did not binge all the 56 currently available manga chapters after watching episode 1 and 2. [Also minor insignificant spoiler] Utena's 2nd base form looks damn cool.

Y’know, I watched the first episode. It’s not all that bad tbh. I mean, it’s not anywhere near wholesome. But it isn’t as bad as redo of a healer, which I have watched as well.

I watched this show because of all the hype and drama that it caused on social media. I found it to pay VERY close attention to nuanced detail, such as Utena's "blink and you miss it" reaction in the first scene to Tres Magia getting hurt. While some of the hijinks are over the top, the manipulation, blackmail, and gaslighting of the MC into villainy is actually quite believable, especially if you have seen some of those things first hand, particularly the behaviors of an addict and their drug dealer. All in all I enjoyed it, if for no other reason that because of the "professional jealousy" of western entertainment script writers who can't create a good story and envy someone do does it better than they can.

The first episode is the most tame.

They print the volumes in french if someone is looking for them.

This anime is a masterpiece. Also, it has the best villain mascot character ever.

I opted for the manga instead and don't regret it one bit. I mean, if PMMM isn't being criticized for pretty visceral depictions of brutality, why would this show get any flak for replacing blood and gore with a fetish or two?

Now say that without crying so much, jesus. This manga has really good character development and in the later arcs some really emotional and epic moments outside of the echi (yes, really). SO you know, even with so many people trying to shit on it and Twitter turds doing their usual outrage, this show will most likely do pretty well. Also it looks good on the animation, most of us fans are really happy.

I dunno. I think it's got some pretty stiff competition in the form of 'Chained Soldier'. Some groping and tickling isn't exactly on the same level as someone who requires you to lick fingers or feet for a transformation sequence and then having that someone SHOVE THEIR TONGUE DOWN YOUR THROAT and call it a 'consequence of their magical ability'. Hentai is just amateur manga, or manga that's too explicit to put on TV or openly advertise. But I get it, it's not really hentai, and they're going more towards less censorship like in the past before 2013 when the big boom with Attack on Titan and popularization of Anime in western audiences happened. The Sacred Blacksmith, or Seiken no Blacksmith had nipples on full display, and they also poked fun at her for having a generous chest size for a LOT of the show back in 2009, and don't forget devil man in any capacity, or freezing, or sekirei, or the ungodly anime "kiss x sis". Another piece is that Fate/______ could have died on release because it had Ecchi, perverted, or pornographic material heavily intertwined with the plot, technically the servants get their mana by mixing their bodily fluids with their master, and sex was the best way to do it. It gets overlooked entirely for the entire series, but it still has points where you can say that there is space to add those scenes, but they just didn't instead, and the result is a more teen/kid friendly version that adults can also watch and enjoy. "Gushing over magical girls" could be put into the same category, however they decided to not censor the series, as it would require major reworks to the story, but you could censor and remove 99% of the lewd scenes, and you'd still have a decent story where Utena (Magia Baser) finds enjoyment out of bullying the magical girls and seeing them expend and burn themselves out. Then you would change the kinky objects with a more conservative outfit, and objects, and recontextualize the scenes. However, it would go by without anybody knowing it existed, as just as any other magical girl show. Instead, they chose horny adult males, with kinky fetishes as their audience, and it seems to be doing well considering the uproar and consistent content output, as well as it creating controversy and capitalizing on it for a larger audience and awareness.

Eh. I've seen worse. After reading the manga it becomes less about the fanservice and more about the actual plot. Utena's covetous nature over magical girls feels, as others have put it, real. Something you'd really see.
