I realize this was posted a while ago, but this was very helpful. I have DDD or disc injuries from the cervical to the lumbar, as well as genetic LSTV. Just, btw: you are both wearing black, so there isn’t a very clear differentiation in the center of the video, at least on an iPhone. Perhaps on a larger screen it is more clear. Thanks, again, I just love the Happy Baby and am considering moving into a more serious yoga practice. 🧘🏻‍♀️☺️

Hey, thanks for the video, is happy pose bad for bulged disk? One more question, I recon shouldn’t be done on mattress? And should be done on hard surface to avoid more protrusion on disk? What do you think? Thanks in advance ❤️

Hi Araz. It depends on the particular case. If flexion (bending forward and decreasing the arch of the lower back) aggravates the pain, then the arch of the back will need to be maintained as the hips flex. If hip mobility does not allow this, then it could be quite dangerous. If flexion relieves the pain, then this pose and its inherent tendency towards lower spinal flexion will likely be more tolerable. Great question. Thanks, and I hope this helps you. Dr. Remy
