Episode 09: Coming of Age
Lacking real family time at home, Jimmy has been spending more and more time at Ashley's house. He and Toby are like brothers and Kate's begun referring to him as her "third kid". When Ashley asks him to stay away for a night and he turns up anyway with Toby, she's had it and decides to break up with him. After the birthday celebration his parents are throwing the next evening. But the next night, his parents are away again and there's just a message on the machine. He breaks down - Ashley's family is all he's got. She decides she has to stay with him.
Emma's been cranky lately, and her mom takes her shopping to help out. But they turn out to be a disaster when Emma gets her first period at lunch the next day - in her white A-line skirt. Manny gets her to the washroom and Paige, surprisingly, comes to the rescue. After enduring some merciless teasing about wearing her gym shorts to class, Emma feels forced to announce to her class that her period has begun. She starts a petition to get a sanitary dispenser in the Girls washroom.

I grew up watchin the 3rd/4th season on the-n on noggin (a channel that doesn’t exist anymore) while it was airing and the reruns .. I was just a lil younger than them and I gotta say I truly owe this show a big thank you to a lot of life lessons 👏🏼 🙏🏼

I love this show and the issues they address. This has to be one of the best shows for teenagers to watch because it talks about things that happens in all high schools big or small in the city or country. From teen pregnancy to rape to sexual harassment and even something as embarrassing as getting your first period. Definitely one of the best tv shows ever made.

omggg I remember being a teen in the 90s and EVERYONE wanted those sunglasses that Paige has. oh and I can't stand Ashelys eyebrows, lips, or the way she constantly holds her head down but looks up and has her lips open. BLEEHHHH. Actually I just hate Ashleys character altogether. i wished this show focused more on Terri rather than have her as a background supporting character. she really got gipped.
