I prefer Hollywood but I hate what the writers did the Paige and Ellie in the end. Paige had grown so much but they took all that character development away. Ellie used to be so cool until the writers made her so in love with Craig.

Honestly Paige’s characterization in Hollywood really disappointed me, to me it always felt like they basically took away so much of the development that she had and made her regress for basically no reason. Personally Manhattan is my favorite, the drama is crazy but I’m definitely biased here because I actually like Spemma lol But don’t get me wrong I enjoy both movies and I agree with a lot of your points

Paige is my fav Degrassi character along with Holly J so I don't accept degrassi goes Hollywood as canon for her character lmao like it's absurd she'd developed so much by that point she wouldn't act like that

Hollywood was over the top but in a fun way. Manhattan was......iffy EDIT: Also to add about Manny's shithead boyfriend at the beginning of Hollywood. It was interesting that we got to see a relationship that wasn't physically abusive but emotionally abusive and it was never alluded to him being physically abusive showing that not all abusive relationships have physical abuse

Thank you for keeping this show alive and building such a positive modern community around it where we can revisit this great media together :) I watched a lot of degrassi back in summer 2009 and saw so many of the important plot points and remember coming to the realization this was the only show on teen nick that was realistic and mature. What great memories.

Man they did Paige DIRTY in Degrassi Goes Hollywood in fact when I rewatch it I straight up skip her scenes entirely it's too hard to watch

Spinner helping Emma with her project was actually on screen, its from season two, the episode titled, "Weird Science" !! So we do see them on screen together from time to time.

I didn’t like what Hollywood did to Paige and Ellie but Janny is my fav ship I think a spin-off show about Janny and Spemma and their new lives would have been amazing I personally prefer Manhattan bc it had Manny, Jay, Spinner, Emma, and had Fiona, Declan, and Holly J

I love Jay and Manny together and Jay was so good for Manny snd he even helped Manny to get away from her abusive boyfriend and he proved how much he loved Manny and i think that Manny was so much in love with Jay as Jay was in love with her. I like the fact that Manny and Jay were supportive of the relationship bewteen Emma and Spinner. Only if we gotten a chance to see Jay and Manny go on a double date with Spinner and Emma.

Hollywood simply because i liked how a drew a full story for Ellie's character by bringing back her dad and i love that writers remembered that all the way back from season 3 and she gets to reconnect with him once again, plus Manny's songs were awesome! The downside was clearly Paige and her bossy attitude problems. Manhattan was eeeh i hated the whole Jane creating on Spinner and Spinner marrying Emma, the star of the movie for me was Holly J

degrassi takes manhattan is pretty good.. other than declan and fiona incest moment (fyi fiona is literally one of my favorite characters in the later seasons, i swear she gets better) i didn't like fiona at first, but after imogen she's gotten better for season 11 and 12

I do not hate the idea Emma and Spinner together, but their "romantic relationship" development in the movie was not good.

I like both of the movies, but I didn’t like how Ellie was pining after Craig again in Hollywood. I liked the drama in Manhattan, and I love Holly J, but your video is making me debate which one is the best movie!

They did add past things with spinner and Emma: the project did happen in the show, it was the “healthy food vs junk food” and Emma gets mad at spinner for ruining her theory because it works the opposite for him. That’s such a minor thing that, I didn’t feel any like “awe cute as kids together” it was just I hate the spinner and Emma. I just feel like, Emma will be just to much for spinner and he won’t be enough for her. He’s to chill she’s to . . Well Emma lmfao.

Hollywood was definitely better structured and well written.

personally Emma was never bratty she was just tired of Manny doing wrong all the fucking time so when she retaliated she was horrible but that was never really the case. Emma had the better relationships over Manny and that's why i think Degrassi takes Manhattan is better
