anyone else thinking next class was as bad as it was because the directors were not doing any risks e.g. hunter stopping the school shooting, miles being sober from benzos, or maya surviving her suicide attempt? and ofc they put way too much social media in it

i agree w your point about degrassi not taking as many risks with storytelling by next class, but i really dont remember the social media stuff being that bad. like, i guess it got a little cringe sometimes but also they used social media about as often as TNG did in, probably less so bc TNG has been using social media in plots since season 8. also degrassi has always been a reflection of the times it came out in, it makes sense that a lot of storylines revolved around social media considering next class took place in 2015-2016 (although i think everyone agrees the hashtag episode titles were a bit much)
