part 12: • DeHaven on Jay-Z Feeli...
Part 1: • DeHaven on Growing Up ...
-----------
DeHaven opened up to VladTV about Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt being about him, but DeHaven says that he shared a close friendship with Jay for 15 years, so it also shows the foundations of the street life that he learned from DeHaven. He went on to share specific lines in the album that are about him, including the story of DeHaven being shot in the side. To hear more, including DeHaven saying that the album increased his business in the streets, hit the above clip.

This man is hurt and need to call Jay and make peace. But Jay is smart and Jay knew this man was not going to stop the hustling no matter how much money they made. I don't think they "need" to make peace with each other. I think he needs to make peace with himself and the situation first. I agree, as life goes on, as you grow sometimes you part ways with people you was once close with. It's just a part of life but because it's someone at Jays level, people seem to look at it differently.

@@KingJamesKingChaos No he doesn't. We're outsiders looking in and hearing one guys perspective, we don't know what went down between the two of them or how either of them feel. The past doesn't always need to be brought back into the present. It's life. Sometimes the best thing to do is to move on and if at some point you feel like getting together it'll happen. @Clockwork I wouldn't even say it's a females logic. I think it's just a young mind or the wrong way a lot of people has been taught including myself at one point. I couldn't break ties with people unless they were disloyal or lost their principles. As I got older, I go more busier and to achieve the goals that I've set for myself it's automatically moved me away from certain individuals. It doesn't mean I no longer have love for them but we won't be around each other because our vision doesn't align and our mindset is now different. I think that's what happens often. Jays mindset was always bigger than just being a dopeboy, I can't see how it would've been possible to attain the success that he has if he had remained around street cats like DeHaven and that's no disrespect but look at Emory, Biggs even Tyty who's never on camera, they all have this way they move and carry themselves. You have to be around boss minded individuals who aren't afraid to grow. Tbh I listen to Dame and besides age, the way he behaves, I can't really see the growth, same with a Cam or Beanie from just watching that Breakfast Club interview. If they refuse to grow eventually you've gotta distance yourself & if you're focused on your shit it will happen without you even noticing anyway.

It seems to me that as Jay became more of a boss in the corporate world, he needed to distance himself from his more gangster friends. He knew that if they became close to him again, it would be quite obvious that he was not the main man. Jay wanted to be the most gangster, richest, most successful etc. With characters like Dehaven, Klein etc he could not be that. Maybe Emory Jone was willing to play a smaller roll? Maybe their relationship was different?

If you read between dehavens line what he is saying isn’t that jay didn’t do those things. He is saying you did those things but I was the one that brought you into the situation. I was in Trenton first, then you came along. Dehaven has his own works in Trenton and so did jay but dehaven went to Trenton first and laid the ground work. Same with Maryland... but jay just took it further. When he stepped away the st.thomas connect came in to play and they were getting a lot more and getting it a lot cheaper. And people like Klein was in the picture back in the late 80’s to like 1990 then went to jail

He did. His angle isn't that he want's to hold on, it's that Jay told the story and left him out, and without him their is no story to Jay z

Some of it probably was but Jay had to have be doing his thing too. No one never discredited him on the line “lost 98 bricks had to crawl back if I’m not a hustler what you call that” BARS

Right...... "Hospital days reflecting with my man laid up, on the uptown high block he got his side sprayed up" That's how you know Vlad don't listen to music he just skim through it.

I think dehaven is alright. He just makes mistakes like everyone else. He spoke from the heart to the world, or anyone that would listen without fully understanding jayz business. Talking without permission can cost jay an untold amount. If your his friend, not necessarily dehaven, anyone, if you’re his friend you would do exactly like all his REAL friends and FAMILY DO, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! No interviews, no podcasts. NOTHING! Jay got plenty cousins that could do that, but they don’t want to hurt they loved one’s business bye saying the wrong thing. Big up Jay and em, And big up Dehaven.
