Del Reeves is one of my favorites. I’m in my early 20’s, but I only listen to real country music. Del is a lost legend who, just like Verne Gosdin, never got the credit he deserved. I would love to go back in time and see him perform. Amazing man and one of my heroes

I was very lucky. I got to meet Del Reeves in 1996. He had quite the gift with his impressions. We had breakfast with him at the Nashville Palace. This was where Randy Travis was discovered as a dishwasher. What a thrill to meet him and watch him perform at the Grand Ole Opry. A lucky Canadian fan. 😎🇨🇦 RIP Del,I was honored to meet you.

Del Reeves was one of my favorite Grand Ole Opry Stars I used to see when my parents took me each summer in the 1970s.

Del will always be remembered for his novelty type songs, but I love his ballad songs best of all. A great all around entertainer. Thanks Jimmy!!!

My first gig in Nashville, 1977... I loved Del and Charlie. This was some years later, but still... and there's Big Jim Webb on steel. What great memories....

Mann, his impersonations were classic and so on point. Would've loved to see him and so many of these legends perform live. Such a great entertainer ^-^

Funny thing is, George recorded this song for an album in the mid to late 80's. I think it was for the "One Woman Man" album. I have it and many others on cassette.

I liked the duets Del did with the very talented Penny DeHaven.

Jimmy,Would you happen to have any footage from Del's old "Country Carnival" TV show? I know George used to sing a solo on there once in a while.
@jimmycee29497 жыл бұрын
No I don't , I know there's a couple videos of Del's SHOW ON you tube but none of George's solo. I heard they might show some in Nashville on occasion.

Marty did a really good Walter Brennan imitation as well.

This video is mistitled. Del was imitating George Jones not George Owens. George Owens was a guitar player and harmony singer for Del. He's on you tube with Del on Looking at the World Through a Windshield live performance.
