Glad you brought up DCL and the connection with the fans Baz. I think the flak he received from the fans is important here and has probably factored in his decision making. Some fans have the opinion they pay their money and they can give players abuse in-person or online, but at the end of the day some of that behaviour hurts the club.

I like the idea of doing a deal with an EFL club to sign Delle on a free and immediately buy him for perhaps a couple of million. Gives a cash injection to the EFL club and we get Delle with zero payment to spurs. Win win

I agree on Dele if we can negotiate a better deal with spurs and he isn’t demanding crazy wages. Worth the gamble as I get the feeling from his recent interviews that he is determined to get back to his best. Richo would be a no brainer on loan if available and we could then cash in on DCL if he won’t sign a new contract. Hard no on Rodriguez imo as way past his best now and would struggle even more now with the pace of the PL

Not sure what you call support, the club supported him, some of the fans showed nothing but hate, if he leaves, yet again the fans have cost the club money. Not the first time, and its not the last time. Some of our fans are a liability and I wish we could let them go.

Contract is offer (terms) and acceptance and consideration (something gained and lost each way) and commercial intention. Contract can be current and future. A clause can be triggered whilst the main part of the contract Everton's with Spurs). If anybody else gets Dele, it's a clean slate. So it does make sense a clause incorporated at the time the contract was made is something Levy can do but performance related payments the 10-40 million, I cannot see how that is legal (civil wise). Consideration would be an issue as that would mean the consideration would have to be retroactive.

I would be staggered if we sold Patterson unless we received an offer that gave us a reasonable profit. If Dyche doesn’t fancy him as challenging for first choice RB this season we would better off sending him out on loan for a season to put him in the shop window with view to sell him next season. Or if he develops like Jarrad did then we may have a player on our hands next season

Wages would still count towards PSR and appearances would count towards 20 needed to trigger £10m payment to Spurs. Baz is being naive thinking Spurs will act in any way other than in their own interests.

@@JayEFC1969 This isn’t a PSR issue. No one is talking £100k a week. Plus, loans can exclude wages and the EPL voted to allow for loans between connected parties. It’s a fairly simple conversation with spurs. Either you can have nothing, or you can have something. But what you can’t get it what it says it the contract, cause that clause is never being filled in its current consideration.

I know he's had his demons but can he actually start doing his job and play again? If not, then need to get rid and not waste a space at Everton. Nothing personal. He's got loads of money for help with his problems and a great support network I don't think he'll need to stay on the books if he can't play, or, doesn't want to.

I'm really happy with the club giving Deli a support system and hope that there's a chance to come back. Spurs must do the right thing and let the player go. The best thing for deli is everton, but the financial terms have to be right. Can't benefit everyone but everton. I hope he comes back for everton and it all works well for all parties.

Sorry Gerard, I think our club's attitude towards Dele is excellent, and should be celebrated for thinking more about him as a human being than the money involved. If we can get him within a mile of him at his best we will have a very good player on our hands, and Everton Football Club knows it. That's why they are renegotiating with Spurs. Showing consideration and respect towards him, and wanting to get him closer to his best can prove good business sense in the end. I don't want my football club kicking players, on our books, in to touch, just because of the money. I prefer a football club with class AND good football, business sense. Speculating 2 accumulate can be just as successful in sport as it is in the financial markets. 💙UTFT"s💙

There is no doubt about the lads talent & if everton r seeing that it's getting back 2 a place we're he used 2 b at then b all means. Must be hard living on over 100k a week, so I'm a groundworker if I get injured and I'm off for let's say 6 months then spend then next 6 months a average worker can I ask my boss for a pay rise I'd get laughed at if he was scoring 15 20 goals I'd pay him the money but he's not and if we could get 20 million for him that opened up some funds to try and get some pace up front, ye he will be missed but he's not bigger then the club so if he wants to go lets get him gone before it's to late to bring a new player in

You want Dele for free because he hasn't lived up to expectations & has been a mental & physical wreck but you thought you were getting a top player. A contract was signed, it should be honoured. You haven't been doing us a favour by paying his wages, you did it because you thought you were getting a good player on Klarna terms. I have no idea why we do you any favours. You are a lower end PL team but still a league rival who nick points off us. The human angle is nonsense. This is high end business. Nothing will stop him playing football.
