Fun fact: The "oof" sound wasn't originally from Roblox, it was stolen from a game called "Messiah" and the owner of that game sued Roblox, so they had to change to a sneezing cat sound effect...

they removed it due to copyright reasons from 2020 cuz it came from a game called messiah 1999. :( rip "OOF" sfx 2007-2022 Edit: i forgot to type "Messiah" 💀

The sound is from an old game called Messiah. It was used as a death sound I believe. But, they asked for 10k from roblox to let them use the sound legally(roblox used it for 15 years illegally). So roblox is the one who is greedy here, since it's a company with billions of money, and 10k dollars for them is nothing. But they decided to change the sound.

for anyone who doesnt know what happened to it: roblox was gonna get sued for it from the original owner who claimed they stole it from his game so thats why it got changed to whatever the hell that is (they didnt wanna pay millions to keep the oof sound)

For those who think rioblox didn't want to keep oof sound it's that the owner of a gqme not from roblox maded the oof sound at the end of his game and roblox copy it al l for all those 10 year then the owner of the oof sound saided to roblox a deal bc they didn't pay all those 10 year for the oof sound owner: if they make a market place of dead sound for player then he keep the oof sound and if he not he don't keep the oof sound then he didn't wanted to pay then he makes that noise that the thing
