Deleting Blank Pages in Microsoft Word - Get Rid of Pesky Page Breaks

Sometimes, you end up with an extra page in Microsoft Word that you just can't delete, no matter how many times you backspace or hit the delete key. Most of the time, this is because there is a pesky page break that you cannot see. Learn how to find the setting to see and remove the page break.
I am a big believer in putting the power of knowledge in the hands of the people who want to learn.

Sometimes I don't even know how I got a page break in my document. Maybe I copied in content that someone else provided or used a template. But none the less I end up with a page break that just won't go away. Here is how you can get rid of it, hope it helps.

Hi.It helps a lot.Thank you.I slept late last night cause I don't know how to erase the extra blank sheet in my word...I did used a lot of hours just to do it but didn't managed.Thankfully I crossed with your video in youtube.12 years ago this is not a problem in old microsoft word versions.just delete the extra page and volla it is easily done..😊

Does this work for headers and footers also? It may sound silly but I alway try and hit”remove header” but it still pops up .

Hi Stacey, the only way I know to edit the header is to go to edit header (right click edit header or on the insert tab). From there I can either click remove header or go the to the page and actually delete what is in there. If you are using Word for your job, the only thing I can think of is that your company has mandatory header or footer markings that the admin put in place. I know a lot of companies do this to help protect their intellectual property.

Hi to see the page breaks the shortcut is CTRL + *. I actually did not know this one off the top of my head but if you hover the mouse over the page break icon in the home ribbon the tool tip will show you what it is. Thought I would share my trick so you can look for more shortcuts you may be interested in.
