Hi Beautiful People - I am so happy to be sharing some of my favorite ways to enjoy tofu whether it be soy-based tofu, pumpkin seed tofu (which comes from the brand "pumfu"), lentil tofu, or even chickpea tofu. Black and brown people making vegan food always makes me so happy! My black Caribbean side of my family are all big meat and fish eaters 😢 (Curacao) so dinners with my father’s family is close to impossible. These recipes look fantastic. Eating meatless from a really young age because of the fantastic cooking skills of my mother, it’s always fun to try new things ❤

I love tofu! The freezer trick does it every time! I’m going to make the lemon pepper recipe today for dinner and serve it with some sautéed kale and cauliflower rice. Not vegan but changing my diet to 80% plant based

Idk if it was the type of chickpea tofu you were using but i think chickpea tofu makes the best scramble better than soy or lentil

I saw a lady on tik tok that soaks her tofu in Salt water. She doesn't drain the tofu, and after she soaks it, she pats dry, season it, and spritz with oil. Cook in the air fryer or frying pan. It turns out good. I tried it 2 times.

@@ShakaylafeliceI do the salt water trick as well after freezing it and thawing it out. You boil water with kosher salt and because of the osmosis effect it drains the extra water out. Take it out the water and pay it dry/squeeze out the excess water and voila

I typically get pumfu from Wegmans or Freshmarket but you can go to their website (pumfu is the brand) to see where its sold near your. I get chickpea tofu from kroger and wholefoods. For the lentil tofu, you'll likely have to make it because I havent seen it sold in stores

Tofu can be good. However I don’t consume soy and have a slight allergy. I don’t like how it can be hormone disrupting. These look good though. Anyone wanting to comment about what I said about tofu, argue with your mom not me because idc 😂

Hi Shakayla, I see that you love tofu. I heard that tofu is not good for African-American/Black people. I heard this from a couple of holistic doctors. Have you ever heard this? By the way, the recipes look great. God Bless❤

Hiiii! I've heard other people say that tofu isn't "good" for you. However, I haven't found any research articles or heard from health professionals that say otherwise, so I always recommend eating based on what our individual bodies can tolerate. If you chose not to eat soy based tofu, pumpkinseed tofu is just as delicious and I've been eating more of it as of late!
