Thanks for the thorough explanaion and demo. I've had my Dell with 8gb RAM for years and always thought it was not upgradable, now that I see how easy it is, I'm going to double my memory, or maybe even 32gb.

Regarding your upgrade, i would highly recommend you to go to 16gb that is the best spot for this motherboard and CPU. the 32gb will not be use to it's max limit. Mine says up to 16gb ram u can upgrade. What happens if I go 32gb?, which I want to have. I have the Inspiron 15 5000 series. It's also says ddr4 not ddr3 like the video, i guess depends on the model type?.

Are you sure, the ram is DDR3, not DDR4 ?

hello @uFixTek, I have this notebook version (5548 I7, 16GB ram), the value returned from the wmic command was 16777216, if I upgrade to 32 GB (2x16gb) what would happen? Is there any way to increase this limit? Thank you for your attention!

Regarding your question, you can't go over the 16Gb, the max it can read and handle is 16Gb. if you place 2 x16gb the laptop will not POST, and it will stay in black screen, OR it will power on and load windows but it will show 32GB installed and in "(" will say 16gb usable only.
