I bought an Inspiron 15 AMD model. Add this 8GB memory to 16GB. Add this SDD to 512GB + 1TB. Replace the WiFi module from WiFi5 to WiFi6. The latest AX201 etc. can not be used with AMD CPU. The AC adapter uses a PD charger. First, open the back cover. These two screws cannot be removed, so leave them as they are. I will remove it with the ceramic knife I bought at Daiso. First, for safety, remove the battery. Insert DDR4 memory in an empty slot. Remove the 2230 SSD here, Attach it here. Move the SSD mounting bracket. 2280 SSDs can be installed. Remove the WiFi module. Carefully disconnect the antenna wire. Attach the antenna wire to Intel AX200 module. Connect the battery and you're done. Test the memory with MemTest86. It recognizes 16GB and runs at 3200MHz. It was completed successfully. It took 3 hours and 36 minutes. The SSD you added is recognized as the D drive. Also measure the read / write speed. The replaced WiFi module is an unknown device. Install the two pre-downloaded drivers. This was installed with [Normal]. Restart. BlueTooth version has changed from 5.0 to 5.2. WiFi has changed from 11ac to 11ax. Transfer the file to NAS and see if it's faster. Download is about 40% faster. Upload is almost the same. I think the performance of the router (TP-Link AX1800) currently in use is not good. Finally, measure performance with a game (GTA 5) benchmark. The reason why the frame rate has more than doubled, The memory has changed from single channel to dual channel.

I Also used this Dell inspiron 5515 laptop. After I watched your video I also added the m.2 2280 512 Gb nvme ssd to my laptop. (Now the full storage - M.2 2280 512 Gb nvme ssd + M.2 2230 256 GB NVMe SSd)

違うブランドのメモリを買ったのにゲーム性能が一気に上がりましたね。全く一緒のブランド（あるいは完全に交換に）すれば "After"とどれぐらい変わるのでしょうか？ Did you use the same RAM brand as what was already included? If not, it looks like you still got a really big performance boost in gaming. (If it's not the same brand) would you expect an even bigger performance boost when using the identical brand? also, I have the same Daiso ceramic knife... great isn't it :D

事前にCPU-Zを走らせて、オリジナルの8GBがSK Hynix製であること確認してました。今回KLEVVの8GBを買ったのは、安かったのとSK Hynix製チップを使用していたためです。CPU内蔵のVega 8 GraphicsはDual Channelを前提に設計されているようで、Single Channelでは性能を発揮できないようです。I ran CPU-Z and checked the original 8GB is SK Hynix. I bought 8GB of KLEVV this time because it was cheap and it used SK Hynix chips. Built-in CPU Vega 8 Graphics designed for Dual Channel, and it can not work well with Single Channel.

I've got the Inspiron 5515 and want to upgrade from 16 to 32gb ram. Once I've put the ram in the slots do I have to do anything once I've started my laptop?

The configuration has changed, so I think the first time you turn on the power, the BIOS will boot up. If you press the confirmation key, the PC should be able to automatically recognize the added RAM.

Does Switching the 2230 nvme drive affect the windows software? Or will it still boot up windows without a need to install it from scratch?

The 2230 drive is recognized as the C drive from the beginning. You can use the added 2280 drive as a D drive by formatting. I haven't done anything special.

I am using Intel AX200 module. Please note that AX201 cannot be used with AMD CPUs.

古い１４インチモデルならSSDを増設出来たようですが、バッテリー容量が増えた新しい１４インチモデルは増設出来ないようです。予備のSSDスロットの部分に、増えた分のバッテリーがあります。It seems that the old 14-inch model could add SSD, but the new 14-inch model with increased battery capacity cannot be added. There is an extra battery in the spare SSD slot.

Can you format the additional SSD to boot to a different OS? Or is it automatically set to the D drive?

I have formatted the additional SSD and used it as the D drive, but you can boot the additional SSD as a different OS by changing the boot drive in the BIOS.

Have you tried this? I can't get it to work. I moved the default NVME to the other slot and installed a new NVME in the bigger slot. Also cloned the default drive with EaseUS Partition Master to get two identical drives, but I can't select the cloned drive in the BIOS. DELL BIOS is really bad. I think I need to re-open it again and disable the default drive so that it takes the new drive as default and then reconnect the default drive.

I have the original NVME of the moved 2230 as the boot drive, so I haven't tried how to clone and boot the added 2280 NVME.

@@suginot2105 holy smokes. I got it working. I used Samsungs's Data migration tool to clone. Then I went into BIOS and set the function key to Function instead of Multimedia. After that I pressed F12 on the boot screen, selected the new nvme. It boots now from this new drive and is selected as default boot sequence in BIOS!

hey there, thanks for the vid, i also have a dell insp 5515 ryzen7 5700U 16 giga ram and i am experiencing high temp with low cpu utilization and noisy fans.Would you have any idea why or any suggestions how to deal with it. ?

In normal use, no such thing has happened. When you play games, the temperature will be high and the fan noise will be loud. Depending on the game, the CPU usage rate does not rise so much and only the GPU is used.

This laptop pc has two M.2 NVMe slots, one is used by the system and the other is unused so I am putting in an additional 2280 Gen3 that I purchased.

Hi, I have a dell 5515 laptop, it has one 8 gig ram and 2 slots, what info do i need to shop for new cards and where do i find it? this thing is a puzzle to navigate or find any specs on

The memory module has an information table called SPD, which seems to guarantee stable operation. When using memory with dual channel, the setting is made in the slower one. So if you add memory slower than the original memory, it will be slower, and adding faster memory will be a waste of money. Of course, it may not work with different memory, but I think it is rare nowadays.

I don't know about durability because my main PC is a desktop PC. I think DELL Inspiron 5515 can be used for video editing and software development by increasing the memory to 16G. However, to run memory with dual channel, you need two identical memories. If you buy only one like this time, you need to choose the one with the same specifications, and if you have a problem, you need to buy another one.

This was upgraded about a year ago, so you don't get the exact same one anymore. For SSD, I chose Gen 3.0x4, and for memory, I chose 260pin DDR4 3200MHz.

Wait, why does this come with 1 8gb ram?? Mine is dell inspiron 5515, ryzen 5500u with 2x4gb ram and 256gbssd (well in the specs it says its 2x4gb ram, is it not?) Thank you

I think that DELL changes the configuration depending on the time of release and the region.
