Great video. The hardest step I found was removing the case and knowing about the PH0 screws. Once I was past that everything else fell into place! Installation of an SSD increased it's performance and completely stabilised it with no more crashes !

Only if you replace the optical drive with a hard drive adapter.

If you can take it out, you can put it back the same way in reverse.

Usually I go with Crucial, Kingston, SanDisk, or Samsung depending on the cost. Crucial and Kingston have been most price competitive with good quality.amzn.to/3cDEj54

0:50 - the smaller screws are PH00 (not PH0) Do not use any different screwdriver, or they will strip (learnt that the hard way). 1:45 - yes, the two shorter screws are for the DVD drive.

People have different tolerances on their screwdrivers. Use what fits best.

The ones I'm trying to unscrew aren't PH anything. They're literally impossible - there's basically no ident for a screwdriver at all, it's just a cross-shaped scuff in the black paint!
