thanks for the video. I have to fix mine because the plastic part on the lid hinge broke just like yours. Got a new lid, hopefully this one will last or I will go the epoxy route like you did.

Hello Bro, what a nice tear down. Congrat. I found the same problem with the hinges in my nephew Inspiron nb. I would like to know how you glued the hinges and what glue did you use?

Used jbweld, but if you don't know what you're doing, you could cause permanent issues.

Thanks a lot just needed to add in an nvme. Few months ago, when i press slightly under the laptop towards the left side, the display goes off and has some red lines shaking on it like a glitch. Next thing these lines started showing up on The screen without me doing anything. And that is how it hs been now.do i have a bad screeen kr is it some cabling i can easily fix 😭. This hurts me because replacement screens can be expensive plus paying a repairman. The screen didn’t break or anything tho. So I’m shocked

In those tow memory sockets one gone fault, do I want to change the memory socket as a whole or I want to just change the slot?

I don't understand your question. The socket and slot are the same thing. I don't know how you can replace those.

This video and others you posted on the same model 5584 have been great and very helpful, i used them to replace a lid and bezel that were damaged due to broken hinge screws, was able to make repairs easy...but, now laptop does not power up or charge, only item that was disconnected for the repair were the antenna connection. Any idea what i could have done wrong?

Excellent tear down video. Very professional. Only thing i I would say is to use plastic tweezers to unlatch cables since not everyone keeps long nails. Also while not necessary, would advise a form of anti-static strap due to working close to ESD sensitive circuitry. Outstanding tear down though.

Not everyone has plastic tweezers, but everyone can grow long nails. Haha I actually keep my knee pressed against my metal desk. Haven't had any issues with esd in the over 10 years of working on computers. Even handling completely bare boards. I try and make the videos to show that anyone can do what I do and there's no need for any special tools for the most part. Usually just a screwdriver.

You want to check the model number on the back of the lcd panel. EBay and Amazon are good to find the screens.

No, you have to remove the battery and press and hold the power button to drain the power or you can damage the backlight circuit.

@@Mari-ee9vk as long as you didn't disconnect the lcd/lvds cable. You have to make sure to disconnect the battery and press and hold the power button 10-15s before messing with that cable.

I don't think there is one. It uses the main battery for that.

@@ItsBinhRepaired My keyboard has stopped functioning. ALL else works; it works with a USB plugged in keyboard. Trying to re-set the CMOS; I unplugged the battery and let it out for a few hours. No change.

@@sanjeevgig8918 cmos won't do anything. Either the keyboard is damaged, usually from liquid especially with everyone so obsessed with sanitizing everything, or if you have pets or something they might have drooled on it. I've had one customer's leaking vape thing drip in it and he didn't notice. That or the connector is loose somehow.

BEWARE !!! Also those two screws around the LCD hinges MUST be unscrewed!!! Only they have captive washers on them, so they stay in place. But wothout unscrewin them, YOU WILL RUIN YOUR LAPTOP!!!

@@ItsBinhRepaired Thanks for pointing me to re-phrase my upset commentary: At 0:22 you'll show which screws to remove, saying: "In the back those two screws - they actually stay in place", repeating: "These two will stay.", followed by "So you remove those other seven screws." This may lead to ilusion, that those two screw should not be unscrewed, which is far from true. Those two screws must also be fully unscrewed in order to remove the bottom cover. They only can not be removed, as they are attached to the bottom cover with clamping washers. Is it a little clearer now?

@@medvidekkrupicka1404 I see what you mean. You have to unscrew them, but not remove them. If you force remove those screws the washers will roll around inside the computer and short the motherboard.
