Dell Latitude E7470- 4 year old video editing computer

I bought an old E7470 laptop on ebay to use as a portable video editing laptop. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it handles the job using my software- Pinnacle Studio.

I just bought a e7470 and those shipped with windows 10 pro license pre installed onto the componannts, even if you removed the os, if you have a old key it will auto upgrade to pro. A really nice feature on 7470s

Thank you, I have the e7470 also with Intel Core i7, 16gb RAM, 1920X1080 screen. I also have the Dell Latitude e7480 also but it is the i5 version.

Perfect video. I'm buying the same one tomorrow for $600AUD. He is upgrading the SSD to 512 and it comes with a 2-year warranty. So hard to choose between laptops these days.

My only issue although minor is battery life. Thinking about replacing it in the future. Otherwise fantastic! Enjoy!

@@LadybugAdventures Ok, I think he might have upgraded my one, as I asked for a laptop with a decent charge. He said this has a big battery. He has a bunch of laptops from business companies here from being a brand rep and he recommended me this laptop for my University studies. Thanks, hope you're safe in your country.

Hi sir i also want to buy dell e7470 this late 2022. what do you think sir? can that laptop still edit? I'm using shotcut video editing software.

Not familiar with that editing software. It definitely struggled with DaVinci. If shot cut is a pretty simple editor it should work. Open shot is something that should also work on this. It will be slow don't get me wrong but should handle basic editing. I should say basic editing in 1080p and likely not 4K.

I’m not familiar with Shotcut editing software, but the Dell E7470 is a great business machine. It is also highly capable with the i7 processor and 32gb of RAM. I wish you luck on your research!

That sounds like an ssd. Just a different form factor.

That I don't know. I Don't see why it wouldn't be okay. I use different software for my screen recording and it works fine.

Never used premiere. I don't know. I would just check the Adobe website to see what the recommended specs are for that particular program.

I've been thinking if replacing my laptop Lenovo T510, it's at least 9 years old and barely able to keep up with simple elearning lessons for the kids. I got a good dad joke for you. What concert is $0.45? 50 Cent and Nickleback.

Ah Lenovo. I do like those. I recently got my father in laws 2012 macbook pro to use for my daughter. It still holds up pretty nice with and i7. I guess it depends on the components. Great joke!!!

@@LadybugAdventures It just needs to be wiped clean with a fresh Windows install. I might throw in some more ram and an SSD to extend the life a bit longer. But I did manage to get a replacement one off 403auction. I got into a bidding war over a Lenovo Legion Y520. Because it was a bidding war, I didn't save as much as I was hoping...just really on the taxes plus a few buck. Better then nothing though...so far its a beast. Lenovo for life! ...I've had 4 so far across 26 years.

I don't know to tell you the truth. That's something you may have to investigate more. I don't have a 4K display.

I explained it at around 3 minutes how much it costs. $300. With the import and taxes it was around $350.
