Klasse, du machst sogar das Entkalken zum Event. Daumen hoch dafür, keiner zeigt so schön das Aufreissen eines Entkalkertablettentütchens. Es Regnet heute, ich denke ich werde mich ans entkalken machen.

Hello, in case of not lubricating the brew unit, is it possible that the mechanic get stuck? In my machine something is blocking the brewing unit so the a loud craxking soun appears and machine is shaking strong

Thanks for yet another vid with great details. My Delonghi has a faulty magnet (yes, had confirm it’s the magnet and not the sensor in machine, tested with another tank with good magnet). Mine has a small cover that’s so stubborn to a point I almost break the tank and it still won’t budge. I’m wondering if there’s a better way to remove magnet
@yt.myworks
@yt.myworks Жыл бұрын
I haven't managed to remove the cover yet, but there's no other way. It can help if the water tank is rinsed out with warm water beforehand. You can also check if you hear a clicking sound when inserting the tank into the machine. Sometimes the tab will bend over time and don't press the microswitch.
@willo7979
@willo7979 Жыл бұрын
@@yt.myworks above all, thanks for a swift reply. I have no issue with the tank microswitch, the clicking is there. It’s the magnet that needs replacing, as water level detection is not working, by confirming with another tank with good magnet (but bad tank;). I’d finally use a little muscle (that’s all that I have) crack open the faulty magnet lid, replace the magnet and superglue back a good lid.

Thanks for such a great video man! I searched the whole internet, and this is definitely the most informative and neat one! Would you mind if I ask a question? You see, I found some green algae growing in my Delonghi Water Tank(different Model, but basically the same design) after a long vacation because the machine was left unattended with water inside. The thing is, I was finally able to clean the green algae in the "mouth" connecting to the pump, but there's still some stuck in that little elevator-shaped room right in the middle of the tank (with that piece of black floating buoy thing inside) - now I cannot remove all the algae without damaging that little elevator-shaped part, if I did that, would that actually affect the function of the coffee maker? What does that black floating thing do anyway? This design seems to be so anti-human, because all the dirt, Kalk and stuff will naturally hide in it! Thank you in advance for your help and any information will be greatly appreciated! Greetings from Berlin

Thank you for the great words! The black thing shows the machine when the water tank is empty and must not break. You have to try to clean it or buy a new water tank. There are not expensive about 15,- EUR on the Internet.

@@yt.myworks Thank you for the reply! I did some more research and here're some updates for other people who might encounter the same problem in the future: the water-level-indicator in the middle of the water reservoir could be easily disassembled without being damaged - just use your finger and try to pull the cap upwards hard, it will be opened, and the black floating-thing (water-level-indicator) could be taken out and thoroughly cleaned! Don't break it!

Great video. I have removed the 2 screws but having hard time to separate the water tank, afraid for breaking it. I don’t have descale tablet. Can I use vinegar instead?
@yt.myworks
@yt.myworks 7 ай бұрын
Yes, you can use vinegar or citric acid. To separate the water tank from the handle, you have to do the same as I did in the video.

Love the videos man. Super high quality for such a small channel! Very impressed. Love the myMechanics style/vibes, those are my favorites restoration videos by far. Will you be mostly focusing on espresso machines or do you intend to work on other restores? I found your videos because I just got a ESAM3300 from eBay to try to fix up and use. Think I might try to get into repairing super automatics as a hobby for a bit of extra money on the side.

Thank you for the great words! More videos are already planned but for now I will give the focus on espresso mashines. Precision engeneering is the most fun for me :D

@@yt.myworks awesome! I look forward to watching. :) It seems the most common issue with these espresso machines come from failing rubber o rings. I wonder if anyone has considered trying to use PTFE o rings before? Assuming one could be found with the right shore hardness, it seems it would solve almost all issues with o ring failure in espresso machines. Maybe they are just too expensive to be practical. Also I found a silicone based food safe grease which has PTFE solids mixed in. Hypothetically it should stay slick longer and resist water well. I look forward to seeing how it preforms in my machine when I refurbish it. It's called "Clear Gold Plus" if you want to look into it for your rebuilds. :)

On my tank, the long part at the bottom with the floater, that is not removable, is full of green stuff. Will this process clean that up? I am concerned it might be unhealthy to use it now with all that green which I assume is some king of fungus build up
@yt.myworks
@yt.myworks Жыл бұрын
I don't think it's a type of fungus, just normal water algae. Shouldn't be in a water tank either. You can also try cleaning with a small brush.

@@vms333333333 i filled the reservoir with apple cider vinegar now. Until the top of that little rectangle for the floater. I’ll leave it for an hour and hope it works. So far it seems to be breaking down the algae. Hopefully it’ll fully come off. I used almost the whole big bottle of apple cider vinegar
