There's 6 Walmarts, an Aldi and seems to be plenty of condos even in the $60,000 range that look descent. A very walk and bike friendly place and several inexpensive public transportation options so you could easily get by without a car and use a ride share service if you need a car. I don't know what apartment rents are because I'm looking to buy a condo, maybe you could get into a mobile home for cheap. Moreover, maybe you should think about how to earn more money, start a business, learn a trade or get some advanced education. The medical profession always needs good people and you'll always be able to find work especially if you're young and healthy. Many elderly retired people live in South Florida and that demographic is in a high growth rate, there is a huge opportunity for work in elder care especially if you're in Florida, you could even offer freelance service for handyman or doing odd jobs for the elderly who are alone and need help. Start thinking about how you can help others instead of complaining about being poor unless you're disable, old and need assistance yourself.

Paul Rainwater well said, and nice essay. But, who said that I was complaining? I’m good Lol. I’m just giving you both sides of reality. I come from the hood, and I know the struggle of coming up. Succeeding from poverty. Probably something those in downtown delray know nothing about. It is in fact depressing. It’s not all “peaches and gravy” as you’re attempting to convey in your little essay. I was just giving both sides, not complaining.
