Unless we know that the man was sick or had some kind of condition this could have been a simple case of over eating and needing to let go of some. The lack of empathy is appalling. Do you know at all times of the day you have poo in your stomach. If this person had some sort of medical condition then why not get a seat near the restroom, or wear adult diapers. My dad suffered with ulcerative colitis for years. One of the symptoms was uncontrollable diarrhoea. This was likely a similar situation. It’s not funny, I feel for the person involved.

Awful for everyone. The person and all the other passengers. I had an issue where I had to use the bathroom at grocery store twice recently. Awful feeling - the fear of having an accident like that. Took me by surprise. Unexpected reaction to a medication - never taking that again!

I hope they made an announcement to explain how air works on a plane. And maybe increased the airflow out of the plane. it is NOT recycled air, always new air and air is always leaving the plane. You used to be able to smoke, it wasn’t a hotbox.

I've seen a video of the event. Looked like a cow did it. Big pile, then an inverted geyser sprayed down the aisle. It was a miracle other passengers were not hit by it. I don't think there were any miracles on the flight.

The complete story is that someone had uncontrollable diarrhea and was trying to make it to the bathroom at the top of the aisle but obviously failed resulting in this. Either due to illness or a chronic disease like Crohn’s or Ulcerative Colitis. I’m willing to bet it was the latter though.

In today's aviation news, a Delta flight en route from Atlanta to Barcelona had to turn around mid-flight and return to Atlanta because an explosive device went off on board the plane. The plane landed safely and there were no reports of injuries but a passenger on board the flight had been taken into custody. Unfortunately, the damage to the plane was substantial and it was deemed a total loss and will have to be written off.
