Delta Force Rescues Italian and Polish Hostages in Iraq, sets World Record (Objective MEDFORD)
On April 12, 2004, 4 Italian guards were kidnapped in Iraq. After a few days, the kidnappers executed one of the Italians and told the government that further steps would follow if their demands were not met. As a result, men from the American Delta Force decided to pay a personal visit to the terrorists.
After several raids and top-notch detective work, all clues pointed to an inconspicuous compound south of the capital, Baghdad. Here, not only were the remaining three Italian hostages to be held, but also a Polish employee who had been kidnapped in early June.
A Squadron operators did not hesitate long and within minutes were sitting on four Black Hawks so as not to lose valuable time. Two additional helicopters served as reserve and transport for the hostages, while four Little Birds were to provide air support. Once again, the Night Stalker pilots demonstrated their exceptional skills by racing to the enemy complex in a contour flight and landing three of the 20-meter-long transport helicopters inside the compound.
Before the wheels had even fully touched down, operators poured out of the aircraft and secured the building at high speed. After a record time of just over 17 seconds, they arrived at the hostages, encountering virtually no resistance. While the Italians and the Pole were being released from their restraints, one of the Delta Force soldiers said "We're Navy SEALs and here to get you out!", jokingly quoting the 90's movie "Navy SEALs" with Charlie Sheen (at this point you can see some comrades laughing in the video). Several suspects were apprehended and brought back to base unharmed along with the four hostages.
It was the first hostage rescue for Delta Force in the Iraq War and it wouldn't be long before the next complex scenarios followed.

Before he died, Fabrizio managed to defeat his enemy's plans to use him as propaganda. They wanted to show a man terrorized in order to spread fear. But he turned it on them at the last moment, and left them with a video tape showing what true courage looks like. He defeated his enemies, even in death. For that, he is a certified legend. However, the more I grew up in age and did my research, my country's military is only used against their own citizens and used oppressively and so I didn't join. My country's military litterally opened fire and killed many unarmed protesters and dumped them in massed graves. You should do a video about the kidnapping of Journalist Jill Carrol by Al Qeada in Iraq in 2006. Delta Force and the JSOC task forces targeted and killed so many dudes in such a short amount of time looking for her, that the very last group of AQ holding her dropped her off in a public market not far from an American military base. That’s the level of fear that Delta Force put into the enemy.

Unfortunately, that didn't happen. However, I do know several of the operators that were involved and we talked shop afterwards. My understanding, is that there were so many scumbags killed so quickly, that the enemy was told to stop kidnapping ANY media personnel immediately. Hahahah. Now that is some fear.

“I’ll show you how an Italian dies!” I am sure his family, and the entire nation of Italy, are still rightly mourning him. The loss of a loved one is irreplaceable. The loss of a countryman is beyond tragic. But, as evidenced by his courage in the face of evil, he was a man of honor. While his loved ones understandably grieve his loss, they should be honored to share blood and have shared their lives with such a hero. “It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived.”- George Patton It is sad he is gone, but Italy is a better country and we are a better world because men like Fabrizio lived. It must feel amazing to see the light in all the innocent eyes they save when they rescue them. Must make taking out the bad guys feel even better. Im sure that little girl or boy or family they save each and every day from evil can easily fill ones heart with love just from the pure joy they bring to those they rescue. I retired after 21 years in the Army, all as an infantryman (11BV). Was fortunate to have worked and trained with some Delta guys. Along with seeing a few of my team mates throughout the years, go that route. All that I can say that I was a better soldier and NCO because of my interactions with these guys. God bless America. And God bless our military.
