Delta's "Delta One" Business Class 767-300ER Trip Report

I recently flew on Delta's Delta One product from LAX to JFK as part of a return trip from Stockholm (ARN) to Los Angeles LAX. While i flew outbound on Air France (review on this channel), my return was on Delta. Both are part of Skyteam. The total return cost was £2000 ($2500).
While I've flown on the airline's newer A330 Neo product (review also on the channel), I hadn't experienced the older 767 product. It's recently been refurnished, but the seats remain the same. The question was, does it hold up against products like JetBlue's Mint, or the Polaris product also flying on the route.
Overall, it was OK, but it wasn't really that impressive, and the seat leaves a lot of areas for improvement. Have you flown on Delta One across the USA? If so, what did you think of it?

Heading from Detroit to Honolulu on 767-300 in June in the Delta One. This was a great review of what to actually expect instead of pictures of the newer planes.

The LAX terminal sure looks good and their lounge one of the nicest I’ve yet seen. Last time I flew with Delta wax pre Pandemic and the experience wasn’t that good. As I don’t visit the U.S. anymore I’ll not be experiencing their improved product but it’s interesting to see how things are changing, obviously for the better. Thanks for the upload.

Entering via the Check-in Lounge was an amazing experience, and the dedicated lift to lounge was also great. The Terrace I found a bit noisy.

Welcome to the retro era of Panasonic eX2 entertainment system ;) Also don't retire this plane, just retrofit it. Look at what Delta did to some Boeing 757. Gorgeous

Technically speaking, Delta on their site classifies that 767-300 section as domestic first class rather than true Delta One. Compared to the typical domestic first class experience, this is actually pretty damn nice.

Yes, the airframe is old, and the hard product is not on par with today's best, but I think overall this is still a very nice business product. Although I do agree, it's not a patch on JetBlue Mint. And if before you had a reason to chose a legacy carrier if you had an international connection, now that JetBlue is flying transatlantic, that is out of window.

The 767-400ERs have been upgraded to the newer suites, though with no door. I presume they'd be similar to your A330-900NEO experience, though slightly narrower. I guess the -300ERs are getting retired sooner, so no upgrade.

The author knew he was going to be flying an older aircraft. Also, never thought anyone would complain about their bedding and their amenities being placed on their seats.

You can store them in the footwell or in the space to get into the seat just as I did. It’s pretty simple lol

Nice review. I’m not surprised a 5 hour flight had one main service, snacks along the way, and a large warm cookie before landing. Seems like quite a bit of food for 5 hours, particularly after a stop in the Sky Lounge. The soft product does look good - the 767 old. Out of a fleet of 947 aircraft, there are 45 -300s and 25 or so -400s still in service. It’ll take awhile to retire all those, I’m afraid.

This video simply reminds me of how spoiled and entitled we can be! Traveling business class costs, for the plebeian public, a life-savings amount. I know. I am a 75 year old woman planning a trip from Sweden to California to meet with family and friends for the last time in my life. The luxuries of business class are utterly beyond my means. I also understand that paying for a level of service expected from someone for whom flying business class is ordinary is natural, nevertheless this person’s critiques feel excessively petty!
