A melody long forgotten... You don't know how long you've heard this melody.... A melody that was sweet yet sad..... You're friends used to play this melody in their instruments together, sometimes hum along when they don't have their instruments... All of that sounds like the melody... A very sweet yet sad one for things don't stay forever... Your friends have gone do their fated ways while you who wishes to go back in time to fix what you have done, and for you to wish to not regret no more..

There were too many dark fountains. The Titans took physical form, destroying and shattering the dark world into millions of pieces, upsetting the balance. They moved on to a bright world. Blood-red sky, scarlet sunset, rumble, screams, explosions, loud crying. You stand in the midst of all this chaos with your friends. You're watching. Ralzey cries with his hands closed, Susie sheds a tear, hugging Noelle. You look at the ruptures of the earth and the sun. It was your fault.

“Won’t you come and dream with me?” This lyric from the Shy version of this song never fails to make my heart skip. I also realized specifically because of listening to this that Empty Town would make a seriously good Waltz. Imagine it. You and a friend or partner, standing together, slowly turning through the empty streets of a town on the edge of the world. I’ve always considered Empty Town one of, if not my favorite, tracks in the game, but I couldn’t really appreciate how truly sad it is when you think about it. It’s Ralsei’s leitmotif, and it’s literally about how lonely he is, how empty his town is, how alone he’s been for his whole life. I didn’t see that when the game first came out, just like how I couldn’t understand the tragedy of Asriel and Chara’s story when I first played Undertale. I was just too young and oblivious to understand it. Now, both of the goat princes are some of my favorite Toby Fox characters and certainly my biggest comfort characters atm. I’m glad that I can appreciate them both now. Also, I feel the need to include these: * The faint sounds of the music box fill you with determination * The town is empty, but your heart is full. The power of Castle Town shines within you * The town’s softly cracked pathways are perfect for dancing. You are filled with the power of Waltzing

The music reaches your soul. You always felt nothing until now, the tune then makes you wonder, " Will this is the end of a tale, or will there be another chapter waiting to be read." Those words you've thought with, fill you with the curiosity to move on..and start anew.

Every time I listen to this I think of the story but it's my bnha version because why not? There once was two best friends, one was a little green nymph and the other a prince with power of fire and ice. They always met under a little willow tree in a meadow every Sunday, where they laughed and played until sunset. They talked about their problems together. Like how the little nymph was considered weak and useless to the cruel world, or like how young prince was only born to achieve someone elses goals. It felt like it was them against the world, but that was okay. They never feared what might happen for they had each other and that was all they needed. Years go by, and everything was great. Until one day as the Nymph sat under the tree, he waited, and waited and waited......... But he never came back. A day later the King announced that the prince went missing. The nymph was devastated, But refused to believe that the prince was gone. So he went to the willow tree everyday. Everyday he waited until sunset, even when winter came. He sat at the tree, he knew that if he didn't get somewhere warm he would most likely die. He didn't move a muscle, all he did was wind up a little music box. Letting the melody take him away as he regretted everything. How he never became strong, how he never found his best friend, how he never got to tell the prince his true feelings....... "Guess I truly am useless after all" He whispered tears rolling down his pale cheeks letting his eyes close. When melody soon came to a close and the lonely boy was now only a shadow. still to this day if you listen real closely. You can here the weeping of the little nymph, wishing for his love to finally come back. ((((Can you guess who they are?))
