But we'll see. I should also mention that my comic doesn't necessarily reflect what I think is canon. Some people were confused I mentioned the ‘Deltarune Asriel might not even be alive’ theory. To be clear-None of the ideas I presented need that theory to be true. It’s not a theory I feel strong about, but it was worth mentioning. Associating every collaboration Toby does with Deltarune seems too extreme, but because skies forever blue was ‘made in a rush for the anniversary’ it may be an exception. If it does end up being connected, ribbon emojis were used in its announcement tweet- further highlighting the ribbon’s importance. Not to mention the possible ‘December Underground’ music easter egg fitting the ribbons location as well. I did a ton of research on the games for this. Fun fact: King in his boss fight near the end says this line: "Now, enough talk! Fall before the chain of *justice* !" - the yellow soul symbolises justice, and it's the only time any of the traits where even mentioned in Ch1. In Ch2 Berdly says in the end of Queen fight (if you did everything right): "Thanks to... my comrades' *kindness* ... their MERCY! Now... It's time... for me to take my freedom!!" - again, the same thing as in Ch1. I don't know if it's gonna be yet another consistency, but it's pretty obscure, and fun to point out.

The CYMK thing also applies to kris and spamton. Spamton already has magenta and yellow in his glasses but he needs cyan (kris) to complete his plan. So there definitely is some importance to the colours in deltarune.

Similarly to the Patience Soul, there's also something extremely strange about the Bravery soul in the Photoshop Flowey fight that I haven't seen anyone point out. During the orange soul section, we aren't attacked by fists, like one would expect from the Tough Glove weapon. Instead, it's multiple circles of completely opened hands, which have a strange symbol in their center that, to the best of my knowledge, has never been identified. Moreover, the defensive item for the Orange Soul is the "Manly Bandanna" or "Mandanna". Finally, the tone of the music when the orange soul shows up does not evoke the feeling of bravery -- instead, it sounds mysterious and spooky. In fact, it is strikingly similar in tone to Gaster's theme. "Beware of the *man* who speaks in *hands*". I think the implication is pretty clear that the orange soul is somehow much more strongly tied to Gaster than the others. The focus on Courage, Guts, Boldness and Bravery in Deltarune further strengthens this theory. Additionally, the tough glove is first found in the Dimensional Box, which is named "Sansbox" in the files. What a coincidence then that Sans is the *one* character that is implied to have come from another world...

when you said the blue/red soul split could symbolic in the mew mew fight, I can't believe that never crossed my mind. that fight could be one of the biggest lore drops in either game and we never even realized

I noticed basically no one has mentioned it or it's become forgotten but I do think your idea of Susie having a sibling holds some water. This is one of those things that I just got from a conversation, then noticed no one was mentioning it and I may have misunderstood. a) Susie makes a Dragon Blazers reference in chapter two and mentions a sister; from context, it would sound like she was referring to _her_ sister b) at one point, I think in chapter 1, she says that she wished she had her own room; this could mean that Susie just might be homeless which is something most people have assumed, but I don't really know how that would work realistically since she goes to school, it would make more sense if she shared her room with someone else c) just like Kris' room in the Castle, her room fades into black as well. It looks like there is another side of the room missing So...perhaps?

After the Giga Queen fight, when Queen is sending her regards to each of the Lightners the quality she says she will miss in Susie was _"Your Foolish Bravery"._ I think that pretty handily seals that case for me.

Hooray, a SOUL-oriented Deltarune theory vid! I've always had a fixation on the human souls because theres just so much _weird_ trivia surrounding them that nobody really talks about in favour of Gaster lore or Chara discourse. Things like the Ball Game, or that weird overhang in the room with Kindness' apron, or the fact that Integrity has the only non-Red SOUL human dialogue in UT/DR in the form of a scrapped Echo Flower always made me suspect that there was more to the Fallen Humans than just being mere caricatures (or MOTHER references), and it's interesting to see their influence bleed over into Deltarune. It makes me even more excited to see what Toby's team have planned. I found it very interesting how you drew potential parallels between Skies Forever Blue and Dess' relationship with Asriel. I always get apprehensive when that video is brought up in Deltarune theories since most of the comparisons drawn are often very surface-level (and I don't like when artists' separate works are compared to their more popular material by fans, esp. collab projects), but I found myself engaged during that portion of the video! Mostly because it more so focused on the characters' apparel rather than the whole "girl gets trapped in game" thing. Not that I'm opposed to those theories; it's just nice seeing something fresh for a change Fantastic work!

2 notes i'd like to say about the red soul and blue soul: First, I think a possible reason a red soul was on the machine is that it is believed by many monsters, as stated in the librarby, that monster souls are comprised of positive emotions. Chara's life fostered these emotions, so as the lab would be put into operation, perhaps they decided that there was no better symbol for something that would generate power in a place of scientific progress would be the symbol of their hope for a better future, as these positive emotions in a sense not only were the heart of progress but their heart and hope as a race, which kept them alive. Second is a less speculative claim, and that is the note that the blue soul's defense item is a faded, red ribbon. A red ribbon, of any color. It could be coincidence, but red and blue are very linked in these games, you could view it as a sort of duality. Kris's body opposes our soul, one is red and one is blue. The red soul is truly violent, wielding a real knife, while the blue soul has a toy one instead. Conclusion: i don't know

Honestly i believe the secret boss of chapter 6 will have both cyan and orange soul powers and believe that secret boss will also be two instead of one darkner to represent both powers and maybe being both secret bosses and the main chapters antagonist (which i believe mostly due to the chess theory)

the cyan and orange souls actually do appear in undertale in the form of the cyan and orange attacks that you need to stand still through and move through, so I think it's unlikely we will actually be turned into different color souls, and the secret bosses will just use those types of attacks extensively.

I wonder how much is foreshadow, and how much is simply coincidence. And your theory about LV being hyperlink blocked does sound pretty plausible. One thing I can think of why Kris needs it. May be because having lots of it might be able necessary to call forth something from beyond by speaking it's name. Who could that be? Maybe Asriel if he is dead, maybe Dess if she is lost beyond somewhere, or maybe even Gastor scattered beyond space and time. But this is a wild guess. No clue if LV can allow that, just jumping to conclusions from the chara text. As for the audio. It's a little low. I'm wearing headphones and I can barely hear you. I am hardtop hearing tho. But it is lower then the average KZfaq like the other deltarune theorists.

This made me check out your comic and wow - really enjoyed the way you characterized the souls. It was a lot of fun to see someone else's perspective on what they might have been like, and I recognised some of the stuff you mentioned in the video (like the true lab generator possibly having a soul). this video was one of the more interesting theory videos i've seen, a lot of people have caught on to the patient soul seemingly having some kind of bigger role. I really wonder if we will meet the other human souls from undertale in deltarune as living people, it would be super interesting. Also, small nitpick, but the audio was a bit too quiet, I think it would be nice if the volume was just a bit higher in future videos.

Okay hi loved your video nice to see someone as passionate about sould as i am (back in 2018 i like wrote 4 pages of analysis about them which is mostly innacurate nowadys but I still want to revisit it) I have another thing to say about the chara gaster connection as chara is my favourite CHARActer in the cutting room floor theres something like dialogue for demon 1 2 3 4 and 5 and the speech pattern is really similar to charas they also don't seem like seperate characters as the "dialogue" (don't really know what to call it) seem like sentences spoken by one person not to mention the fact how demons relate to chara anyways just want to mention it since not many deltarune theorists mention it (Theres also another thing about their being multiple save files I think around ten and how their could be one for each human soul and the other ones for frisk flowey and another person i dont know just read it in a comment once but it could be worth something)(I also found the core segment really interesting the next time when ill replay undertale it will be something that im going to pay attention to)

There's definitely a lot to suggest that the Patience soul, Bravery soul and the Red soul are connected. 1. Patience can be seen as the opposite of Bravery if we highlight their potentially negative aspects: Cowardice and Rashness This is reflected by the cyan and orange attacks. For the former, you have to stand still (freeze in the face of danger) and for the latter you have to constantly move (rush towards danger). 2. Tension Points are represented by the color of Bravery, and Kris shines courage on the other party members. Their "guts" stat increases from chapter 1 to 2 as well, which is synonymous to increased Bravery. The implication being that they were cowardly before -- or in other words, they had a cyan soul -- Patience. 3. Obviously, Kris' skin color and primary UI color in the Dark World is cyan/blue for no apparent reason. This makes more sense however if their Soul Color used to be Cyan. 4. The color inversion of the Red Soul is a Cyan Soul and vice-versa -- the exact same color as Patience. Also as mentioned, the Mew Mew soul mode is split between Red Soul and Patience. Finally, and this is probably the most important one: I believe the Spamton BIG SHOT lines are commonly misheard. In actuality, Spamton mentions the conversion of the Soul color: "Fingers coming from the inside of the phone a hand that's waiting 'til you're all alone it pulls the strings and makes them ring until your heart turns red." In this video I try to make this interpretation more audible by slowing down the available recordings, and isolating the word segments: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jqqqiLCJusqYgmQ.html The implication here is that "red" is the color of a soul that's under the control of an outside force, e.g. the player. Which would explain why Kris now has a red soul.

Great video, very interesting 👍 7 chapters... I don't think that's a coïncidence. And the flowers in Asgore's shop show that the souls traits may also symbolize something in DELTARUNE. The printer theory is fun too ! The first area we saw in the dark world is really strange, I wonder if we'll have more explanations. Oh yeah, [Hyperlink Blocked] is definitely LOVE, or variations thereof, like "lover" or "loved". But the part in the Spamton NEO fight that you mentioned I believe isn't just a crude joke. If you think about it, the entire route has the subtone of a creepy, non-consensual romance -- one where, ironically, both parties do not consent. It's the player forcing them together. Here's what I mean: * At the start of the weird route, first you walk all the way back to Spamton's shop with Noelle for no reason -- like you're going on a date with her. * Then, when looking at the Ferris Wheel poster, you can follow up the choice: "I will ride with you" with a forced "Noelle will ride with me". This only happens in the weird route. * The Addison you get the Freeze Ring from assumes that Kris and Noelle are dating. * You can answer the question of whether Kris and Noelle are friends with "We're something else" -- one possible interpretation being that, yes, they are a couple. * In the weird route, the Addison then offers the Freeze Ring -- the implication being that this is a wedding ring. Taking this ring is essential for completing the weird route. * It symbolizing a wedding ring is further corroborated by the Spamton Sweepstakes also having a wedding ring as one of the prizes. Moreover, one of Ralsei's reactions when trying to equip Noelle's ring on him is: "Are you proposing...?" * Every interaction where we force Noelle to "proceed" has somewhat of a rapey tone to it. Eventually we even put her into a trance by forcing her to wear the Thorn Ring, in which state she loses the ability to recognize what's going on around her -- almost like she's drugged. * Of course, like mentioned in the video, there's the fact that the Thorn Ring reduces Noelle's health to 55 -- in Roman Numerals: LV - LOVE. I do think this is intentional. Noelle is all about Christmas references, and fittingly, the Thorn Ring symbolizes the Crown of Thorns, which the Romans forced Jesus to wear before he was crucified, causing him to bleed profusely. The crucifixion pose actually appears at the end of the normal route, when Noelle is tied to the hand before the Giga Queen fight. As such, it makes sense that there would be a reference to Roman Numerals with Noelle. * Finally, you are able to approach Noelle during the Hospital cutscene in the aftermath of the weird route. Her reaction to doing this is very reminiscient of a rape victim being approached by their abuser: "S-stop! Don't come any closer!" As such, "YOU'VE BEEN MAKING LOVE HAVEN'T YOU?" can be interpreted in a much, much darker manner... ---- But, on the flipside, if we interpret LOVE in the same direct sense during the normal route, then I think it also makes sense that Kris would be interested in Spamton's deal. Kris may actually want to get together with Susie, so Spamton offering a way for Kris to find love would definitely appeal to them.

It would be the best twist if instead of undyne we would see napstablook in chapter 3

It should be noted that Chara "being in control" only applies to the genocide ending if you refuse to join, the idea of them controlling Frisk throughout that particular route stems from the popular misconception that they're evil and want to destroy everything when in actuality it's the player's action that result in everything happening

this is probably the wrong place to say this, but it just came to my mind and probably won't hold up in the future chapters. When we fight Jevil, we have the Determination soul. When we fight Spamton Neo, we have the justice soul. I noticed that when you fight Asgore, you have a determination soul and before that, Mettaton with the Justice soul. so what if in the future, the soul order continues, and if so, what will happen with patience and bravery?

The canonical thing about saving is that they would just reset if they died (it’s the “moral” of undertale) if there is any way of progressing they would most likely instead of giving up they would have gotten bored and just let themselves die (basically giving up) until flowey was created where he was most likely created after the human souls (no undertale yellow) flowey also tried to die but he just couldn’t let himself die (for some reason?) until frisk came, this is most likely what happened while not going too far from the world of undertale. (Also that love thing at 29:53 having kris and noelle making love is vile, more vile than Toby fox, they’re children man. Toby fox wouldn’t do that)
