Thankyou for this reaction. I searched this song today because lastnight I broke a 680 day sober streak from alcohol. It's horrifying how instantly saying yes one time to a substance brings you right back to the last time you also said yes. Here goes day 1 again, time to find myself again. Thankyou for being so open love, you are inspiring and I needed this.

God i love how open you are! My wife was a opioid addict for 4 yrs and dragged our family through the whole thing and i was thee enabler ! And it got so bad that i finally had to give her the ultimatum drugs or her house and family? Make the choice!! Shes been sobor for 1 year and 4 months and 3 days and we all celibate each month!! Love who you are and you are one badass chick !!

Hey Jen, congratulations for being clean for all these years!!! I quit alcohol and heroin both at the same time in 1996. It was so fucking hard! The hardest thing I've ever done but also the greatest thing I've ever done. But we did it and I'm so proud of you! I can never watch this without tears flowing down my cheeks, it takes me back to where l never want to go. And seeing you get so emotional made my tears flow harder. This is my first time on your channel, you're such a genuine person and l love that ❤

We need to soberise children nowadays, but from addictive ideologies. I know exactly everything your talking about. Jail, withdrawal, and still went back to heroin. I can finally say I'm free. I try not to think of the good times or how good the drugs made me feel I think about the bad stuff that happened. That's truly what keeps me sober today. They're right when they say you get sick and tired of being sick literally and tired of the vicious cycle.❤️

I have found myself watching this and the other Demi reaction you did. I can not put words to what I want to say other than thank you for sharing your story. I have been in the same place many times and everyday I struggle and still do and always will. Seeing you gives me strength to keep fighting. It’s hard watching my mother fight this fight with the drugs but I mentally support her the best I can. I know she didn’t choose the drugs over me. She is suffering a battle that only she can fight. I will always be here to catch her when she needs it. But the pain I go through never goes away. I didn’t choose this war but I will fight the battle with everything I have.

Jen... G’day there from “Kangaroo Country” (🇦🇺Australia🇦🇺)... I had my own “battle with the booze & depression” & can definitely relate, having now been sober for nearly 7 years now ✊️😌. I have to be honest with you here... I was BLOWN AWAY by how “open” you were with us about your past & yes, I went through the withdrawals also. I don’t regret my decision to ditch it & it took a near fatal accident for me to wake up to myself & “battle my ass off” to beat my addiction. ....I could sense how emotional you were when you were recalling your past troubles & all I wanted to do was reach through my screen & give you the warmest hug possible ❤️🤗❤️. As you’d know... Help is out there... That 1st step (reaching out to ASK for help) is always the most difficult. Booze, lots of booze. I died, literally. Along with the memories of the past that were slowly killing me. But SHE found me in time and brought me back to life, literally. I owe her my life. She said "Don't go, I need you." I created a new me. For her. Now this woman loves me and we have a son. New life.

I love that your reactions truly are real and from experience. That’s why I feel so connected to Demi. We have similar stories except I’m a little older and my heroin addiction lasted many years. Ive been sober from heroin and Xanax since 2016 and everyday I wake up and I’m so glad to not only be alive; but to not have to experience the gut wrenching hole that withdrawal brings you to! So thank you for sharing her songs and your experiences🙏

Nov 7th 2021 I will be 3 months clean and sober. I overdosed in front if my at the time 17 year old. It's still hard every day!!!! But completely worth it! I lost everything. Hitting rock bottom was exactly what I needed. Proud of you! ❤💙💜

I was on opiates for 8 years and the last 4/5 of them I was on Fentanyl. I NEVER not once seeked help. I was what you would call a "functioning addict" my tolerance was so high.... I am here by his hand. In 2019 I moved away and ended up on a VERY high dose of methadone...I detoxed in jail on 6/28/21.....I have been sober since then.

It breaks my heart that addiction is penalised with jail time. It's an illness that deserves to be treated and the people who struggle with it are far too often dehumanised and treated horribly. Thank you for sharing your story. I'm so glad you've come through the other side of all of that.

My Babygirl is a heroin addict, she lives on the streets, she's od'd several times...a couple of them they almost couldn't bring her back...I love her more than my own life, and it's breaking my heart watching her destroy herself. Thank you for helping me see her addiction from her POV. I hardly see her, I miss my Baby girl so much! It consumes me! It feels like I'm already mourning her death, every.single.day! I pray for her...its all I can do 🙏❤

Sorry you’re dealing with this. I wish addicts saw how horribly their addictions affects everyone who loves them. You’re correct, all you can do is pray, bc it’s up to them to make the choice to get clean. It took 6 OD’s for me to finally say (pardon my French) “Fuck this shit! I’m done!” And with that I was. My poor parents, siblings, oldest son, and sober friends had to watch me in my worst. I will never forget that. But I’ll also never forget how they’re now seeing me at my best.

Jen I truly have respect for you and I love your honesty I feel the same about Demi. I’m going to be honest with you I don’t understand addiction at all but even though I don’t have an addiction I have young brothers that are and sadly I had to walk away from my family because my mother enabled my brothers and still does. I also had a best friend for 25 years and her son that I helped raised both passed away 4 months apart in 2015. I truly feel happy for every one who goes through it. I still don’t understand addiction. I have see it i know what it looks like but I’m very happy I never felt it.

so raw, so real. I get everything you`ve said. I was lucky, managed to dodge most of the worst that can occur. nearly 10 years being a drunk, there are so many bridges I could have burned. Only burned one(still hurts me today). I was lucky, so f*ing lucky.

my mom (who was a counselor for addicts) really liked this song. She said ur first step to recovery is admitting u have a problem and wanting to fix it. She loves Demi. As do I. and she lobves demi cause she changed for the better.

I feel this song so much 😭 I have been fighting addiction since I was 19 . Haven't been able to stay clean for long until three years ago after a horrible overdose in front of my 1 year old son, I decided I was finally done, I made it to this year almost three-and-a-half years clean and unfortunately last week I relapsed on drugs and alcohol the song really hits home along with her other one that she came out with last year. It's so hard to fight this, but I'm hoping this time I'm not ever going back again.

I've been clean since 2012 and this song hits me so hard my best friend just got clean after 30 years and got diagnosed with breast cancer but she is staying strong and has been clean for a year
